Dvorak and typos.
Posted May 9th, 2011 at 12:05 AM by Chardar
After debating for a couple of weeks I have made the switch to a Dvorak keyboard, so if you see me making more typos than normal that's why. It's going to take some getting used to, but I like it so far. Does anyone else use a Dvorak, and do you have any advice for me?

Well met!
His weird keyboard explains some of the funny notes in his compositions I guess. |

It's taking some getting used to, but actually feels a lot more natural when typing.

Dude, that's messed up. I can type a good 75-ish word per minute so I would be totally disoriented on something like that.

Odds are that after an adjustment period you could probably type significantly more on a Dvorak. I'd recommend reading the entire article, it is actually really interesting how the keyboard was designed over like 15 years and how the creators studied language and finger motions and such.

Actually it was designed over 70 years ago. The problem was that it was the middle of the great depression, so it never really caught on.

Probably should have been clearer, I meant that they spent 15 years designing it.
Looking at the data, it really is a shame it isn't the standard today. And it's like, everything is there to switch. There really isn't much preventing people from switching at all. |
