M.A.R.S. Playtest (vs Phantom Knights and Zelrig)

Posted Today at 03:43 AM by Astroking112
Note: This playtest was done with an earlier version of M.A.R.S. at 4 attack instead of 2.

Shattered Plains by Dignan
475 Points
Army 1: Zelrig, Phantom Knights x3, Concan the Kyrie Warrior
Army 2: M.A.R.S., Mohican River Tribe x3, Brave Arrow, Venoc Vipers x2, Isamu

Which units survived?
Zelrig (4 wounds), Concan (4 wounds), 2 Phantom Knights
~125 Points

Game Summary:
Zelrig flew out and blew up a squad of vipers and a Mohican. M.A.R.S. marched up and climbed partially up a ladder, gaining height on him to deal a couple of wounds. Unabated, Zelrig blew up a couple more things (dealing 1 wound to M.A.R.S. and killing an adjacent Mohican) before the SoulBorg’s next attack from height highly encouraged him to back off.

With the Mohicans somewhat crippled, the PKs moved in, using Concan as a relay to gain extra defense the turn before they could reach the other side of the field. M.A.R.S....

Hoard of the Dragon

The Map. Large open area of Castle Walk containing 1 fewer Brandar's chest Treasure Glyphs than the total number of players in the Game, within a larger cave.

The Adventurers. 500 points per player of Classic, C3V/SoV, no Marvel, no other custom, melee-only Unique (no Uncommons allowed) Heroes. No Bonding or Auras - each Hero acts independently.

The Game. The game is played in 2 phases - before and after the Dragon dies.

The Dragon. The Dragon must remain within the Castle Walk area, and may only attack units standing (fully or partially) on Castle Walk spaces; however, the Dragon may attack any unit he is engaged with. The Dragon takes a turn at the end of every Round, Controlled by the player that lost Initiative (played last) in that Round.

Screws, Secret Treasures, and Hard Salami

So Tina decided to live here in Cleveland with us. We’ve decided to take the basement’s sideroom as a bedroom since my old room is too small. We’ve been tossing stuff out left and right, and largely tore down a bar. We aren’t keeping most of the wood, but some of the flats are good for tourney scape purposes.

We bought a pretty big dresser today to house our clothes; the thing took a while to get into the basement. I’m just glad it’s down there, the drawers are still sitting in my van.

We’ve found the old Super Nintendo too. Hopefully it works. We’ve found Zelda, Mario, and Sim City so far. How many still work though? We’ll have to find out when we get the wreck of a basement fixed.

C3G Interview - September 2018

C3G Interview
Author: Scapemage & Tornado

Fellow Heroscapers, please join me in a journey back to the earlier days of C3G when no one had any idea that this group was built to last. Originally posted on 8–25–2011.

How long have you followed C3G? What was the first set you remember?

I’ve followed C3G since right around the release of World’s Finest, which is still an awesome set. I still haven’t played a few scenarios from that though. Someday soon ....

I started playtesting for the X-Men set, which was a lot of fun. My first playtests were on Ravaged Road, which was the first map I made for the C3G mapmaking group, which Griffin invited me to because I expressed some strong opinions (like I usually do) and I guess some of my Valhalla maps looked okay.

DC or Marvel?

I hadn’t
