So, Rochester Gamers Reunion Heroscape Tourney coming up. On Saturday. Thats right, 3 days. The tourney, if you haven't read ANY of the other 2 blogs I posted, is 510 points. I'm really just here to say that I hope I do well. Not much smack-talk has been happening, so far. Spider_Poison is gonna be there, so I'm kinda hoping to lose to him, if anyone. Actually, it'd feel even better to BEAT him. I'd go home with 1st place, in my book, if I took him down. Actually, if half my wins aren't from a BYE round, I'd be happy. So, just some pre-tourney ramblings. I'll be back on Saturday/Sunday with a tourney report, then a Post-Tournemant ramblings.

General Comments on the new figures:
The "soulborgs" are the most controversial units in our family. My wife hates them. I love them. Son is kind of inbetween. After our first couple of games, Wife almost refused to never play again because she said "the robots just ruin it for me." That was back when we only had a couple of deathwalkers and Q9. I think she started liking them a bit. I've been delaying adding more "robots" to the mix but couldn't delay...

Getting Skahen was definitely a minor ordeal for me. After learning that fate decided I should get my Skahen off of Ebay instead of by random drawing I managed to win a Skahen at a decent price.
However the figure arrived with a SEVERELY damaged card. It was torn, warped, wrinkled, creased and even partially chewed...
As luck would have it, the seller was kind and sympathetic to my concerns and allowed me to return the figure and receive a refund.
So in the mean time I ordered a second figure which arrived today. Thankfully this one was in perfect condition.

Once again my Heroscape collection is up to date.

I now drool in anticipation of what figures will be out next....

A thread started just this Sunday explores the merits of banning units in casual play. The OP notes that Quote:

For those out there whose games have become mundane and boring, try spicing it up a bit by using units you usually wouldn't. Part of Heroscape's allure is it's diversity, and using Q9/Laglor/Raelin/Deathreavers every time you play can subtract from the gaming experience...
