Had a Really Terrible Saturday Afternoon...

I do not know how many Heroscapers have ever had to mess with dairy cows (cattle), but let me tell you sometimes they can be a pain in the a**. (I never cuss, this shows how mad I was yesterday...)

Yesterday afternoon, around the time it was starting to get dark outside, my dad decided to feed the #6 cows (where the dry cows go for the winter) a little early. He drove the large Ford 7710 tractor out with brewer's grain to feed them, and after dumping in out in the field he decided to drive all the way out to the back of the field. (It is very long, you cannot see to the back from the gap.) I had no idea what he was up to.

Once it was half-way dark, he finally came back with a cow in front of him. Their was a calf. (Uh oh, I thought.) I ran over to help him as best as a could since it is very deep with mud out there. I caught the calf, but it was bawling very loud and sounded stressed. That wriled up the cows there, especially the mom, so they followed us the entire way. The calf tried to run away from me, and I eventually had only her tail to hold on too.

I tripped some ways close to the gap, and the cows came right up on me. It felt like they would run over top me. The calf got away from me. This is where the bad part happens.

The mom cow, the calf, and two other cows went to the opposite side the field, in the same area. My dad told me to go get them. I tried to circle around them, but they ran away to the back of the field. I would try to circle around again, but they ran faster and faster everytime I moved closer to them. They ran all of the way to the very back of the field.:grumb le: I only managed to cut them off near a creek. And did I mention it was next to pitch black, while I had a dinky light with me?

I ran at them as fast as I could, yelling at them so they would run back to the front. They did, only 15 minutes later, after attempting to circle around me again.

I eventually got them down to the gap again, and me and my dad got the cow and calf into the boxstall, along with 3 dry cows that decided to jump and break the fence.

That took about a hour to do, and then another hour to fix the fence and get the 3 dry cows back into #6.

Man, it feels nice to get that off of my chest now.

(Sorry for the excessive smiles. I thought they would express my emotions better than words.)

Cows suck sometimes.

And bad cow puns, too. They are just dairy annoying. ^_~

Well a little hard work is good for you. It's a fact, plain as black and white.

I thought someone should take the bull by the horns and get this blog away from cattle puns.

Your problem, MegaSilver, was two fold. You clearly forgot:

1) Cows have disengage.
2) They get +1 defense for standing in the shadows.

Next time, try some Gladiatrons or Major X17 to lock them down.

Nah, I'd rather sic the Marrden Hounds on them with Marro Plague, or get the Deathstalkers to Maul them to death.

After the ordeal I really wish I could do this to something: (Not that a cow wouldn't do... )

I forgot to add that this is a metaphor.

That actually happened, though.
