Tail Feathers Preview

Posted November 10th, 2015 at 01:32 AM by truth
Note from Xorlof: y'all know about our very own Grungebob and you may know about his previous game, Mice and Mystics. In this article, he explains what he's been up to lately!

-------

Hello Heroscapers, Grungebob here! Xorlof has been kind enough to allow me to use the front page of Scapers to talk about my newest game release Tail Feathers.

So some of you might not know who I am. My name is Jerry Hawthorne and I am a Heroscape fan. I got involved with Heroscape in 2004 before it was released, and I had the good fortune of meeting Craig Van Ness, Rob Daviau, and the other good folks at Hasbro who create cool games. I play tested for Hasbro and eventually freelanced for them on Heroscape.

I've always loved miniature games and Heroscape really struck a chord with me. My experiences with Heroscape have led to lifelong friendships and game design career...

Hyground Tiles

Many of you have probably noticed the promo for Hyground Tiles in the sidebar. If you haven't seen what these guys have to offer, check them out! They look very cool and have obvious use in Heroscape.

Their Kickstarter is underway and if successful, they offered to send us a bunch of their terrain for use to use as prizes for site members. Pretty sweet. (That's why we put up the promo in the first place, as a "thank you.")

If you want to discuss this project, the Hyground Tiles thread is here. This is going to be my first Kickstarter backing.

PROFILE:

Who are you really?
I would have thought that by now you guys knew what the spy game was all about. Who you really are is a[b] question that never gets answered. Yeah I could lie with some philosophical answer explaining how, "who you were before is one person and who you become is another, so we all live this life not knowing who we really are". Or I could play the game and tell you that I'm an Arabic/Irish double agent named, Emir O'Scape. The truth is more simple though, I'm Matt Helm... nothing more would be of any use to you.
(Note: Check out this prior C3G interview if you'd like to push the issue)

How old are you?
Pick a number between 40 and 45... you probably got it right.

What is your occupation?
So you're saying that "government agent" isn't good enough of an answer? Would you rather I say "assassin", or simply "spy"? I do have...

PROFILE:

Who are you really?
I am Luke Burris

How old are you?
29

What is your occupation?
Currently, I am a Shift Leader @ Arby's.

What other interests do you have?
I view that everything is itself in particular and muddied by layers of others, while being a layer that muddies others. I like defining things, finding their essence, discovering their parameters, and then meshing them with other things I've put through the same treatment to see what happens. I like making things work.

What's another board game you enjoy and why?
Right now I'm playing the heck out of Solforge, because it is so difficult to beat but on the surface seems so simple.
Also, Battles of Westeros:

My name is Noah Love. Like most people in Indiana, I live in the middle of nowhere.

How old are you?
16

What is your occupation?
I work at a local organic coffe shop. They use Starbucjs recipes, but with organic coffe. It's like heaven in a cup!

What other interests do you have?
Reading, and like most 16 year olds, Videogaming. However, I take care the other stuff never comes betweene and Heroscape

What's another board game you enjoy and why?
Warhammer 40k. I know 40k is a touchy subject for some people, because of their experiences with Hames Workshop. I buy off ebay and play with people I know, and it's awesome. If you've ever played 40k in the past and have quite because of a GW encounter, I would advice you to try again. You never know, you might just enjoy yourself
