Unit of the Week -- Krug!

Krug smash.

Discuss? Well I suppose the most important question would be:

Is it pronounced krəg (like mug) or krüg (like "to")?

Krug, as seen by last year's Unit Challenge, is the quintessential Heroscape character, and apart from Raelin, the poster child for the game.

This would be much more interesting and/or relevant if you put a synopsis of his capabilities or something. Maybe some strategies to use him with? As it is, I could care less...no offense...

Krug is an awfully fun guy to use. Well worth his points, especially later in the game. He's not my favorite to use, but he's still way up on the list.

And his removable arm is pretty cool, too ^_^

Best Army Build/Strategy: I like Spider's 2006 Gencon winner. Can't go wrong with krug, arrow gruts, Swogs, and raelin.

Best Counterdraft/Strategy: Dead Eye Dan and sudema. Well, maybe not. What you have to do is out number him an wear him down.

Favorite Part of Unit: The more you hurt him, the stronger he gets. It's just fun seeing an opponent say, "Yes I wounded krug! ...oh no, I wounded krug!"

If I could change one thing...it would be his point cost. I think 150 would be a little more balanced.

I think his cost is pretty appropriate. Squads still tear him up.

I think that Krug is the most perfectly designed hero in the game.

I'm surprised that people haven't been mentioning how awesome Krug's sculpt is.

Krug may be a great hero to use against the troll.

Krug > Feral Troll

Krug has been one of my favorites for a long time. He bonds with a squad has multiple attacks and in most of my games with him, he runs around with impunity as my opponents are afraid to attack him until he is the last man standing. He usually is never the last man standing if you play like that.

The trick to taking out Krug is to constantly attack him. Once you get the first wound on him, don't let up.

The trick to playing Krug is to always be on the move. Take a disengagement here or there, but always advance on a big target or get between two small targets and Krug smash.

Krug is by far my favorite character in the game. His Wounded Smash is incredibly intimidating and fun to play.

What I want to know is why Krug makes such a pathetic sound in this Official Hasbro Clip (0:50)?

I've always pronounced it krüg, but I guess Krəg does make a little more sense.

He sounds a bit like a Wookie in that clip . . . .
