The Adventures of Chedwick and Sven Comic Blog Part 7

Posted July 1st, 2008 at 11:56 AM by gamjuven
Hello everyone! Welcome to another Chedwick and Sven blog.

The Past

In case you have been living under a rock for the past few months, or are just one of the billions of people who don't check the Fan art and Fiction section of this website on a religious basis, Chedwick and Sven's popularity has been rising. Today I checked out the "What's Popular" section of the gallery and saw that the very first Chedwick Sven comic just broke the 1,000 view marker! This is wonderful news and I believe a momentous occasion with a cause for celebration! Well, perhaps not a huge celebration but I'm happy inside at least. Thanks to all who read and enjoy my Chedwick and Sven comics, it has been my pleasure to keep trying to entertain you all and I hope to be able to continue to do so for a long time.

The Present

Recently the comics have taken a different turn in the form of a new thread entitled: "The Finding of Steve", and it harkens a new era in the comics. Instead of simple and short jokes and gags I have started to explore the wonderful world of story-driven comics. We have recently learned that while in the zombie castle (for lack of a better name at the moment), Chedwick and Sven fell down into a deep, dark pit. While down there they discovered a well-versed zombie named "Steve".

From here they must figure out a way to get out of the pit and carry on their lives (or in Steve's case, un-life). The thread will continue the adventure in it's entirety, which is about 10 comics long. This will be the first of many story-driven comic adventures I plan for our heroes. I may or may not have Steve in all of them, but my plan is to include him in most of them. In future blogs and comics we will see more and more of Steve's personality and we'll see how he matches up with Chedwick and Sven.

The Future

The original comics and those simple gags will continue to be made. There are plans in the making hopefully to have an exclusive Chedwick and Sven comic in the upcoming Heroscape Codex online magazine. That, of course is information subject to change upon the slightest whim at atmospro's discretion. But it's exciting nonetheless.

Other news include the making of a Chedwick and Sven t-shirt. I am in the process of making a simple t-shirt from the "zazzle" website. Of course this will be done completely out of my own pocket and no money will be made off of the shirt because that would be copyright infringement. It is for my own enjoyment and anybody that happens to see me and know what it will refence.

At some point I will talk about ways you can include Chedwick, Sven, and Steve in your very own Heroscape games. I have created customs (at least the stat lines) of all the characters so far and I am pleased with them. A few playtesting and experimentation with the army card creator and soon anyone can field our favorite heroes. I also plan on developing scenarios and adventures for these custom figures as well! But that will not be for a while.

So thanks for tuning in (the few who do), and enjoy the new comic posted today and look forward to more Chedwick and Sven fun in the future!

I buy them from Housemouse to begin with. But in PA where I am zombies have been sold in Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Wargame Hobby shops, etc. I have gotten them from a variety of places. It depends on where you are. If you go on vacation make sure you check out the local Walmart, I recently found some wave 1 in MA while on vacation.

I'd buy that shirt. I like story-driven comics, having caught up over 400 OotS comics to be up to date.

I could possibly need someone to help me with the customs of Chedwick, Sven, and Steve. I don't seem to have the capacity for the create-a-card programs. I was wondering if anyone with custom creation experience would be up to helping me with the Chedwick and Sven customs.

I may also just want to hold a contest where anyone can submit their custom Chedwick/Sven/Steve, then after the submittions I will judge them/everyone will judge them and we'll come up with the custom card that way.
