Valkrill is cool, but I've never liked D&D, even before it was in 'Scape.

Nope, not joking (not even trying to slaughter any sacred cows), just stating the facts. May the throwing of fresh produce commence.

Actually, I think most of us would prefer rotten produce. . . better splatter effect.

He's entitled to his opinion, and you have to give him credit for not being afraid to state it. Especially now.

Valkrill has four units, all are squads, and two are two man squads. He has no theme and little backstory.
Badass. |

He has a great deal of theme. He seeks to destroy everything in existence, so he summons creatures that are effective at destroying. Such as the demons and death knights. He still needs power and lesser minions, so he summoned his orcs and bugbears.

For the record - Valkrill was thought to be the most evil and potentially the most powerful Valkyrie General - until the other real Generals realized he was only a poser.
![]() Valkrill (nerdy voice): I am the most powerful General ever! No one can defeat me! All the other Generals: *laughing* Valkrill: I'm being serious fellas. Vydar: Even I have more troops than you. Go back to the coast from whence you came. |

1) Valkrill has the coolest name.
2) Valkrill has the coolest looking card. 3) While Valkrill may only have a few units, we can see from the themes and aesthetics of those units that Valkrill was amassing the coolest army. 4) Backstory is added fluff for those without enough imagination to make up their own. It often detracts more from the game than it adds. Thus having less backstory is actually a plus. 5) Since Valkrill was in the early stages of development, he provides the most potential and flexibility when creating customs. Often better and more fun to paint on a blank canvass then add to an old picture. Since Heroscape now relies on customs for its content, Valkrill is poised to reign supreme. |

1) Yeah, nothing makes me cower in fear as much as the guy who seems to be named after what whales eat.
2) Okay, I'll give you that one. 3) Nothing is cooler than an Utgar ripoff. Yeah. 4) Opinion, not fact. 5) That would be true if he had an actual theme. any unit that follows Valkrill could just as easily go to Utgar. 6) Utgar has cooler units in every category compared to the ones Valkrill has. Valkrill: (See above) Fear my mighty death knights, the pinnacle of undead! These unstoppable monster will conq- *A sudden shadow swoops by, decapitating the death knights.* Cyprien: Sorry, my attention wandered for a bit. What were you saying? |

I might be wrong about backstory. I actually find lots of it inspiring.
