Heroscape is Back? From Where?

It never left.
I cannot speak to how important Renegade's success is to any given 'Scaper. I can only speak for myself, and hope that my perspective is helpful.
I have been on this site since 2008. I have been fortunate enough to have a regular group of guys to play with - The New York City Gang Of Four. I enjoy designing units. C3V/SoV units are "official" at our table. One of my designs, Kha, was inducted into the SoV.
I am a Martial Artist (4th degree Black Belt in Karate), a Singer (Classical, Church, Musical Theater, Caberet, And Jazz), and have read tons of Historical Fiction, Fantasy, and Science Fiction novels - all of which inform my creative imagination. To me, designing a unit for Heroscape is an art very much like Jazz. The soloist creates within a cooperative context. Improvisation and pushing the creative envelope are encouraged, but the soloist is always listening and his version of the original melody evolves through the contributions of the other players, as well as his own imagination. Kha would not be who he is without the comments and contributions of a plethora of members of this Community. I believe I have a talent for this, and a good general design philosophy.
So, while it is interesting to speculate about Renegade 'Scape, their reasons for doing anything are different than mine. I am content with and grateful for the existence of the SoV. They're my arrangers. They help me with my charts. Of course, the Gang is my Jazz quartet. Our individual Hostings are like taking solos. We are affected by what the previous Hostings were like. We often repeat/revise scenarios according to our individual tastes.
So, with respect to Renegade and C3V/SoV (from Now Voyager):
Why ask for the Moon when we have the Stars?
