I used to have three sons. We used to play games together. And then something happened. They discovered something called minecraft. Or I should say they became part of the mine craft cult. It looks friendly enough at first glance. An endless world, full of heights and water and trees and other things that scapers love. And even better you can alter the landscape, build a house, dig a mine, cut down trees, like a real live scape world. And at night the monster come for you. What could be better? My boys began to build houses and then secret houses and then they started playing in the same world and attacking each other. They built portals, tamed horses, made cookies and went fishing. All fine. Innocent. Or was it? I received a rude awakening at my six year olds meet the teacher evening. In his class all the students had drawn cute pictures of their families. His, however, featured a bunch of people built out of cubes.... |
