I wrote a post in the Book of Ana Karithon, in defense of the designers with regard to Ana Karithon's power, Protection from Evil. This power, unfortunately, ignore Valkrill's units.
While this is a terrible development, the designers were probably not allowed to know that they were even getting another general, let alone one that was "evil," at the time they designed the D&D Master Set. Therefore, they missed the chance to include Valkrill, but not because they dropped the ball, but because WotC threw them a bit of a curve. At least, that's how I see it.
A non-rep signer (though he was kind enough to give positive rep) sent me this message:
"If you think it's just like any other game, then you cannot possibly understand what it means to a heroscape fan. Besides, you wouldn't be so forgiving if an average site member had made such a mistake. Is everyone here at this sitea a kiss@ss?"
My response it this: If anyone, a designer or otherwise, made a unit now that didn't take Valkrill into account in such a manner, I would call them on it. If a custom unit creation, made a year ago, didn't include Valkrill, I would not penalize them later. I would, in fact, be just as forgiving. I am not kissing ass.

Today, I came home from lunch to find my cat, Mittens, had died. She was hanging from the arm of the couch and apparently her heart had given out while she was trying to climb up.
I had her for five years. I rescued her from the street. Her previous owners had abandoned her and left her to fend for herself. When I moved into their old apartment in the Bronx, Mittens came to my door. I started feeding her and asked the neighbors if she belonged to anybody, and then they told me the story of how she had been abandoned by the people who lived in the apartment before me.
She was a wonderfully loving cat who always climbed into bed with us and loved her scritchies on the chin. I will sorely miss her. I'm sitting here with her body on my lap, holding her one last time. At least I know she isn't suffering anymore, as she had been very sick near the end. I'm not sure of her exact age but I've estimated it at about 18 years, which is pretty long for a cat.
A wonderful light has gone out of the world.

My condolences.
Godspeed to Mittens on her travel to eternity. 18 years is incredible for a cat. It sounds like you made her twilight years pleasant. Perhaps when you are ready you could find a kitten. |

Its a great thing to have companions to go through life with you, whether animal or human. I know she was a great source of joy for you. And you for her, I'm sure.

When a light goes out, you need another light. Although nothing can replace a loved one (a lost two cats two years ago) I now have two new cats to light up my life. Totally worth it!

I am sorry for your loss. May she be remembered not only as a pet but as a friend. Good bye mittens.

It looks like we'll be getting a new cat when we move into the new apartment in a few days! I loved Mittens very much, but it's time to move on. Thank you all who posted here. I'll update this blog when we have the new cat.

It's been almost three years and Whiskers is doing fine! We still miss Mittens but now we have a new bundle of joy.

Whiskers is still doing great, being only four years old. We have a new cat bed for him; it's an enclosed space he can sleep in.
