"Let's go buy the latest Heroscape release." If feels so good to be able to say that.

AGE OF ANNIHILATION: Vanguard Edition is live on Hasbro Pulse, Hasbro's version of Kickstarter. You can go there now to pledge your support for the newest Heroscape master set, which looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! New units, new factions, new terrain, and exclusive promos!

Nearly 1000 people have already pledged their support, so if this sounds interesting to you (and I know it does!) go to the Pulse website and check it out! There are lots of great pictures and information there.

If this really takes off, there are even stretch goals available. Who wants more Sgt. Drake Alexander? I do! and I bet you do too.

There’s definitely well over 250 of value there. I guess maybe people are more used to about the 100 dollar mark for kickstarters. Also Kickstarter gets way more exposure than hasbro pulse. Lots of interesting issues to analyze in this failed campaign and maybe we can make it successful another time. I’m also intrigued at hasbro’s use of number of backers as it’s metric instead of money collected like Kickstarter. I’m unaware if they consider each 250 dolar pledge as one person or not, but seems they raised about 1 million so not really a failed effort by Kickstarter standards.

For the record, I didn’t back this as I didn’t have 250 bucks to spend due to family circumstances. I MIGHT have been able to swing 100 but 250 was out of my league. Sorry I didn’t help brothers.

I’m disappointed by the lack of marketing. Expecting $2mil from heroscapers alone wasnt gonna happen.

There should be a new main page post so this reminder doesn't slap my eyeballs every time I log on.

I completely disagree that this value is worth that. 2010 prices are still relatively the same except for wood and other things. That is one reason I specifically mentioned it was terrible typing. And no unpainted figures are not that much. I can go into a hobby store who sells crap at an insane price for $4 and comes with two figures. And I just bought the entire Magic the Gathering Pathfinders of the Arena set for $50 which came with about 70+ unpainted miniatures.

And yeah Master Sets are $180 but that was not market price and has been driven up by the collectors because they are no longer available. Not because that is how much it cost. And no, the original Master Set had 10 more hexes this set does not have more terrain than it had. And once again I specifically pointed out the thing that was driving the price up was the walls, which is way too much. People who say this is a fair price aren't seeing Hasbro just wanting to milk it as much as possible. They see how much it is on ebay in hopes to get the same price. At most this set is worth $100 to make. So at most that should be paid is 150.

And yes I know how inflation is right now. I work on concrete and construction and stuff has went up, but it hasn't went up that much to warrant the costing so much.

I guess you haven't looked at house prices, gas prices, etc in the last 12-18 years...

Not sure what set you are talking about because pathfinders of the arena core set comes with 18 unpainted figures and runs about $50. So at approximately the same price for figures and cards, Heroscape should have run $200 for the set without terrain. And as far as inflation, what my family was spending at the grocery store each week has almost doubled over the last two-three years, and we don't buy anything we haven't always bought, also the average price of a fast food combo meal has gone from just under $7 to nearly $10 per person so yes everything has increased.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Hasbro was going to pay the shipping as well and I am sure that wasn't going to be cheap for that huge box of materials. When I purchased Heroquest the shipping was $32. So we are up to $232 without any plastic and painted terrain. So to consider this was not worth the amount they were asking for is just nonsense. If you couldn't afford it, I get it. It was a high price. But I am sure Hasbro just wanted to kill off their already dead game 12 years after its demise by paying designers and creating content So it could dig up the coffin and drive another nail in it... That whole thought is preposterous!!

Price IMO was fine. I think the bigger issue was the unattainable goal of hitting 2mil with basically little to no marketing that I could see, expecting heroscapers members to foot the bill.

I am sure someone here had access to how many active users we have over period of 2 months to get an idea of how many people would see it, then perhaps double it with people reaching out to old heroscaper members etc...

To barely hit the half way number for backers, that tells me this was more of a Hasbro problem, them us Heroscape fans of a problem.

I agree with the 8000 backers being too high, when Heroquest was offered, they were only asking for half as much in support monetarily. Yes they did $3.8 Million in support but they also had two tiers allowing for more people to get in on the lesser amount option. I thought (and still do) that they should have offered at least two options and set a monetary goal instead of a number of purchasers goal for Heroscape. They had a hugely successful plan and outcome with Heroquest, why they didn't follow that I cannot fathom. I too think this was more of a failure on Hasbro's side but for Heroscape's sake, I wish we could have another go at it with more realistic expectations and better planning.

If you do the math we did more than $1.088 Million monetarily, surely that much backing warrents another look! PLEASE!!

I completely missed the campaign. Never got an email from Hasbro and I’m a previous Pulse buyer. Didn’t see it on any of the news sites I frequent that regularly cover crowdfunding.

Hasbro- if you’re reading this, relaunch with decent marketing.
