The ∆ 'Scape Bargain Bin - A Classic Perspective

Well met!

It will be a long, long time, if ever, before there will be anyone who uses
'Scape pricing without having first played using Classic. Until that time, everyone's take on ∆ 'Scape has been, is, and will continue to be, colored by his/her experience building armies under the original pricing system. This means that I, and, I postulate, no one, can judge, without prejudice, the pricing of any unit, as its price will always be seen, to a greater or lesser extent, in light of its Classic price.

In my particular case (see The End of the Valhalla Society), a high percentage of my favorite units were arbitrarily rendered uncompetitive, while certain other units' competitiveness was similarly arbitrarily boosted. Would I, or so many others, have developed such a virulent hatred for Q9, if he had originally cost 220 points? If I was reluctant to draft him at 180 in Classic, in spite of his gross under-pricing, how much more so would I be loathe to draft

My Latest Book

Posted January 2nd, 2013 at 01:21 PM by Mossman
Just realized I never shared the news of my latest novel, that came out in November. Here's a bit about it-

For more than two centuries the Oak Island Money Pit has baffled researchers and foiled treasure hunters, and when Dane Maddock and Bones Bonebrake take up the search, they get much more than they bargained for. Danger lies at every turn as they search for a treasure out of legend that dates back to the time of Christ.

Ancient wonders, hidden temples, mythical creatures, secret societies, and foes new and old await as Dane and Bones unravel a pirate’s deadly secret in Buccaneer.

Blurbs-

"David Wood delivers again in Buccaneer with a fast-paced romp through sunken treasure maps, hidden Templar churches and a secret organization that wants to resurrect an ancient kingdom. Dane Maddock and his sidekick Bones wisecrack their way through adventure, aided by Angel and...

12 Rescued Villagers

QUAHON

CHARACTER BIO:

Icaria: a beautiful world filled with majestic creatures.

Dragons fly across the land, worshipped by the native Icarians. The dragons which call Icaria their home come in every color of the rainbow and more. Some are small enough to sit in a child's lap; some are so large that trees are felled as they pass. All are majestic; all are marvels of magic and nature. All are feared, worshipped, and admired. But no dragon is as regaled as the dragon of Pataqua.

Once upon a time, the people of Pataqua were without a dragon protector; for as long as the eldest of the elders could remember, it had been...

Well met!

As chronicled in Sky Mat 'Scape!, the Gang of Four is meeting at my place on 1/11/2013, to play this version of:

The Lost City in the Sky!

"The Treasures are here, here, here, here, here, here, and here," the Minion said. All are closely guarded by Dwarves."

The Captain thought a moment. "We need to divert their attention. Ideas?"

The Minion spoke again. "They value their Great Leader, Migol above even their gold. A threat to him should do the trick."

"Not everyone will like the idea of killing," the Captain said. "But they'll get over it somehow. Being filthy rich will help."

The Map. Migol (not shown) is standing on a Shadow space at the center of the Lava Field 7-hexer. There are 7 Treasure Glyphs, under Dwarves (not shown), 1 in the center of the Fort, and 1 on each of the linked Islands. There are 2 Outcrops, the
