Nice. I think knights & champions will be very effective in the treasure glyph formats - knights can swarm while the champions collect glyphs. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like knightsx5/Gilbert/Eldgrim win Treasure Quest. Everybody else is playing cute games with Cyprien and Theracus, and you're just rolling over the battlefield.
I also particularly like your Mixed Marvel army, which seems like a good counter to both of the dominant metagame options that mixed marvel provides (Cap/4th and Thanos/rats). I think I posted that Monster Mash army at some point, so yeah, I like it too... Looking forward to meeting and playing you soon! |

thanks. And (@ dok) that's exactly what I thought about.
In Treasure Quest I think a bonding squad would be most beneficial. I was maybe going to go with a standard Dwarf Build because Migol or Mogrimm or even Darrak could be quite powerful with a treasure glyph bonus, especially defensively. But, I went with what I'm 5-0 with, so I'll see how I do with the Knights this year. I didn't feel like bringing Mass + Cap, I think a lot of people will show with that. But I was considering Rats + Thanos + Marcu. I went with something to counter both. I couldn't fit Q9 to counter the 4th so I grabbed Q10. He also has Wrist Rocket that is a bit better against more powerhouses that I'll face in this one. Krav are really good in this event; it's a lot of high dice rolls and Krav can ignore that. Same with Venom or Spidey with their senses. Rats are there to be rats, maybe mess with a Marvel hero if I can engage one. I chose Venom because I wanted to actually play a Marvel hero for once. I could have been lame and played without one: Q9, Krav, rats x2...maybe Othkurik for a harder hit and to counter Cap adjacency? I also could have gone with Spidey + Isamu, but I think Venom's 6 attack will come in handy and Marcu's for the wound glyph. |

GenCon 2010 ArmiesThe person who did win treasure quest used-
x3 GSW Charos Krav Isuma You got the bonding part right, and the high amount of hexes right (15 hexes). Out of the 5 games he played he faced Cyprien 3 times, Ornak 2 times when he was facing Cyprien(Sonya 0 ![]() ![]() x3 Axegrinders Darrak Ambershadow Migol Ironwill And he also played- KoW x1 Macdirks x1 Thorgrim Alistar Sgt. Drake Alexander Tarns So all the armies that I played had either Cyprien, bonding, or Ornak. oh and the winner was me ![]() |
