Units used: more breakdowns.

In my last blog post I listed the 47 units I'd used in tournaments. In my quest to field each unit competitively, I thought I'd break things down a little to get some more immeditate goals. I've taken Marvel out for the time being and corrected the general table from my last post.

Using all of the Rise of the Valkyrie figures would be a nice first step. Just Drake, Mimring, Carr, Finn and Ne-Gok-Sa to go; I can easily imagine fielding any of those.
As for planets, Alpha Prime is within reach. I still need Major X17, Deathwalkers 7000 and 8000 and Warden 816. DW8K is fine, but the other three will take some careful army building and the right tournament environment.

Interesting. I could see you fielding DW7000/Major X17 at Uconn (because of the 100 point sidebar).

Major X17 is an acceptable counter to Cyprien, if you suspect you will be facing him at a tourney.

Likewise, DW8K is an acceptable counter to a Kato/Ashigaru army. His Rapid Fire blazes right through their 1 defense.

Yeah, that UConn 100pt sidebar (and the 150pt sidebar at Battle at the Border) gives nice freedom. It was at the last Battle at the Border that I fielded Dund and Morsbane as nice alternatives.
That said, getting a new Marvel figure out there is the prime factor at UConn. For maximum competitiveness, I think Spiderman or Capt America is the way to go (given that Venom is not an option). However, I'm tempted to use one of the 300+ guys. Iron Man is tempting too. I'll keep thinking, probably until the day of the event. |
