The Cowboy/Ninja Legion will be given two zero victory point artifact cards at the beginning of the match. The artifacts will be represented by placing a black turn marker on the card that is carrying the artifact.
The idea was to make some fun legions.
The Cowboys/Samurai worked a charm. They were a lot of fun during polayetesting and at the event.
The Vikings were also a hoot. They started as 4 squads instead of 3, but that was just too darn good.
Some of the Legions had tons more points.
The Deathwalker Legion and Samurai Legion come to mind.
Both were in the 700s I think (we were aiming for 450-550).
But they were fine in actual play.
Advice from participants was to make the Legions less specific ie more a mix of range and melee.
Also to lower the points of the Legions.
Ehh. We finished before our desired start time--the whole thing took 2 hours and 45 minutes--so I think the points were about right.
Broadening the focus of the Legions may have actually mad things go longer. When you've got a bunch of Vikings or an army of Gorrillanators, you know what you're supposed to do. If you have both...
The complete absence of Stingers, Q-9, Mass Line, rats, etc is completely on purpose.
