The Adventures of Chedwick and Sven Comic Blog Part 8

Posted September 3rd, 2008 at 09:37 AM by gamjuven
Hello everyone, and welcome to yet another blog about your favorite heroes: Chedwick and Sven.

It has been a while since I have done a blog on the comics so I figured it was time. The comics are going well: new ideas, new backgrounds, new adventures, new character, same old fun. All the necessary ingredients to keep people watching.

Just recently we finished up "The Finding of Steve" adventure. In case you didn't know Steve is a zombie and is the newest addition to the cast of Chedwick and Sven. I think he fits in nicely with the group. I picture Steve as an intelligent guy but with a few flaws. He gets these urges he can't control and simply starts going around killing people. He's not necessarily evil per se, he's just misunderstood (like all zombies trying to pursue a higher mind, ). Steve can get along with Sven to a degree simply because Sven likes him, but it's Steve's relationship with Chedwick I really enjoy showing.

I like having Steve around Chedwick a lot because he's another character that can annoy Chedwick to no end. I enjoy watching my characters suffer, it makes my life seem better. Steve will be coming in and out of the comics and of course will be involved in all the big adventures.

Currently I have gone back to how I originally made the comics: simple 4 panel jokes. I will start doing the longer adventures again soon but for now I enjoy watching poor Chedwick get along in life next to Sven.

Other great news is that the next Heroscape Codex will showcase a codex-exclusive comic with Chedwick and Sven! So look forward to that. If you haven't checked out the new comic please go do so. Mike and I are experimenting with the dark background so let me know what you think of it. I especially enjoyed the last panel where Sven says "ouch, that's tough love", then leaves Chedwick to ponder life on a cliff's edge. I can almost see the sadness and the wheels of Horoscope turn above Chedwick's head. Such a tragedy.

In other news I just came back from Gencon. If you haven't gone before, you should. You get to meet all the great people who make Heroscape and this website such an enjoyable experience. I loved talking to Bunjee, spider_poison, jexik, killercactus, and all the others that could stand my company. I wore my custom-made Chedwick and Sven shirt for Day 1 of the Championship event and even got it signed by Craig Van Ness. It looks so much more cool right now. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of it somewhere on this website.

Anyway thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the comics. PM me with your thoughts or suggestions and I look forward to hearing everything you have to say! happy 'scaping!

Hi, Gamjuven, where do you post the comics? The few I've seen were great...

I post them in the fan art and fiction section. There are two threads. The first one has the simple joke comics, and the other is "The Finding of Steve", which showcases the new character. You can also find them by clicking my name or by going to the gallery section of the website under humor. There are 18 comics in the main forum, and 10 in the Steve forum. Let me know if you still can't find them.

I'm one of those lives-to-far-away-to-go-to-gencon type of guys, although it would be really cool to be able to. I only know one other person who likes heroscape as much as I do, and he lives a state away, my brother has a few sets and likes to play every few months, but other than that, I don't get to play much. I have a lot of fun building a lot of cool maps and worlds (thus, my name, WorldBuilder,) but never really get to play on them. I thought about posting some pictures of my worlds, but I don't really have nearly as much sets as most people I've met here on heroscape. I am an all time Chedwick and Sven fan, though. Heck, I thought they were so cool, I'm even thinking about carving chedwicks outline into my Jack-O-Lantern this Haloween. (Sorry, didn't mean to babble like that,)
