This is a neater way of storing my playtests for my customs that I want other people to be able to see. I mostly intend on posting about units that I'd like to submit to the SoV.

Game Summary:
Leo rushed out Me-Burq-Sa to claim a Treasure Glyph, but failed the roll and took a wound (we chose to replace the trap with a simple wound instead of turning all snow into Heavy Snow for this game). My Kozuke then rushed him and grabbed Wannok, managing to kill both Me-Burq-Sa and two Romans by the end of the round.

The Kozuke then failed to defend, letting Leo take back Wannok for the next round. They managed to get in one last good hit against Marcus, but he healed with Kelda the next round as the Tagawas came out and cleaned out the Romans from Wannok.

Masha then abandoned the central lane, moving on up to terrify some Romans (ineffective because Leo preferred attacking with the 12th from range) and clear out the space for the Tagawa Samurai to grab Wannok. The 12th then showed up in full force, activating gas grenades an ungodly amount of times to clear out Masha, the last Kozuke, all of the Tagawas, and 2 of the Izumi.

Due to the high performance of them, Leo opted to sacrifice Romans to Wannok, but my Samurai won on attrition against the 12th, with Tomoe Gozen having snuck her way to Wannok earlier. Leo was left with a single 12th eventually, but he was unable to finish clearing out the Izumi before succumbing to Wannok on the last round.

Usefulness of Powers
The change to Awakened Terror to only apply to Common Squads felt surprisingly good to use. Some tension was undeniably removed from the design, but the Unique Squads needed the help and it made the choice of using Masha with them far more appealing. Given how many moving pieces the army has, it can be tough to juggle Masha with the squads and Tomoe (especially when he penalizes you early on), so this was a nice surprise.

It didn't take much of an effect here, though, since Leo was mostly using the 12th. I was only able to force him to lose 2 dice.

Fiery Retribution felt very useful, as it did in Masha's last stint against the Romans. It only activated twice (since Masha took 1 wound from Wannok, 1 from range (activated), 2 from range (activated), and then was finished off in melee), but the decision making of having to choose whether to finish off Masha or target the adjacent last Tagawa Samurai was an interesting one to pose to the opponent.

Altogether, Masha managed to kill ~90 points worth of figures. I am leaning towards upping the roll for Fiery Retribution slightly to make it a little less punishing against ranged--perhaps to 11 or 12--on account of him being fairly effective against melee match-ups as well.

Leo's Comments
Masha was really strong offensively, and it was tricky to avoid Awakened Terror. It was possible with the 12th, but their shorter range and the sightlines of the map made it a little difficult.

Fiery Retribution was effective. I tried targeting the Tagawa Samurai in many cases because they were trying to kill me, but changing targets to Masha served me well. It became a lot easier once he was down. He didn't feel unfair, though. My army made him a lot less painful to deal with.
