Today we bring you some of the most loyal and determined soldiers ever to fight on Valhalla: the steadfast Shieldsmiths of Granite Keep, the juggernaut-like Gorillitroopers, and the faithful 8th Infantry Pathfinder.

SHIELDSMITHS OF GRANITE KEEP

Time and time again, the Axegrinders of Burning Forge have taught the enemies of the Allied forces that underestimating a small enemy can be a fatal mistake. The dwarves of Feylund have become respected and feared across Valhalla for their resilience and determination. But among the society of dwarves back on Feylund, the Axegrinders are considered reckless and foolhardy when compared to their brethren, the Shieldsmiths of Granite Keep.

With Indomitable, the Shieldsmiths can adapt to any situation; they can charge ranged enemies, or shifting their strength into powerful attacks to deliver deadly blows. And with their Steadfast ability, not even the mighty Jotun can throw them aside.

GORILLITROOPERS

For ages, the reclusive species known as the Primadons hid on the planet Marr, keeping their existence a secret and focusing their efforts on scientific research. But when they were discovered by the Marro, the peaceful Primadons were roused for war. They sent what soldiers they had to face the seemingly endless armies of Marro, and while their technological advantage and greater mobility kept them alive, they were losing ground quickly. Then, the Primadon engineers had a breakthrough, and the BA-2110z battle suit was put into production. That was when the Gorillitroopers were born.

Armed with deadly Autocannons, these new Primadon soldiers can mow down entire oncoming swarms with ease. Equipped with top of the line tactical computers and comlinks, the Gorillitroopers can coordinate their efforts with the rest of the Primadon forces with deadly efficiency. Finally, the Marro invasion could be repelled.

8TH INFANTRY PATHFINDER

Loyally and selflessly, these brave men fight to the last for their country. With Marching Orders, the 8th Infantry Pathfinder will follow his commander into battle without hesitation. And once in position, these soldiers can start a Firefight like no one else.

Cards look great. Love the elegant but very thematic card for Shieldsmiths. Th e multiple options for Gorillitroopers (and backup for dwarves) is a great accomodation to fans!
Keep up the good work!

Great stuff! Absolutely love the Shieldsmiths; very dwarfy feel, even though two of their powers are reused and Steadfast is very simple. Love the name on that one, by the way - really covers any angle on "moved by opponents." Can't be knocked around, can't be scared away, can't be tricked, can't be pushed... very dwarfy.

Gorillitroopers are super complex, but they add a lot to the faction. Love the alternate cards there, too. And the Pathfinders really give birth to their own faction, don't they? Only Drake and Varan so far, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some other soldiers in the future.

Thanks! They all look interesting. What would be a good number of units for each of these (with ~500 point games in mind)? At first glance, I'm thinking 5 squads of dwarves, 3 squads of Primadons and 8-10 of the Pathfinders.

Looking good here, really cool cards - but honestly, Steadfast isn't called Nobody Tosses a Dwarf? For shame...

Every time I look at the Shieldsmiths card I like it a little more. It's such a classic design.

@Serenity: It depends on what the rest of your army looks like. You could get away with as few as 3 (or even 2, Raelin-backed) squads of Dwarves if they're acting as a screen for something else.

I'm not sure about the Primadons. I think 8-10 is the sweet spot for the Pathfinders, from what I remember from the playtest reports.

There is also an alternate card for the Shieldsmiths that uses the "backup figure." That card will probably become available when the .pdfs are made available.

Just to make sure for the pathfinder : they just need to "be able" to move adjacent to an unique soldier (but can move else where, just that if they wanted, they could have moved adjacent to an unique solider), or they need to be able to move adjacent to an unique soldier AND need to try their earnest to do it ?

I believe the wording is based on the unfortunate wording used for the Kozuke, Lyrgard, so they must move adjacent to a Unique Soldier or they cannot use the power.

Pathfinders

Well met!

The Pathfinders seem to be made to accompany Capt. John Varan and his Purple Heart Special Power.
Purple Heart already helps the Airborne Elite, so I'd try to build an army featuring all three of these units.

Does Laglor's Range Enhancement Aura work with the Gorillitroopers, or is their Range Number considered to always be 1, even after being modified by Autocannons?
