And in today's installment of flameslayer's insane drivel, I present to thee a list of music I enjoy. Much of it hails from the radio, so mainstream has reason to be mainstream. :P As I hear new stuff all the time, I hope these blogs are editable...

Also, the songs are sorted by general henre of the song, as opposed to simply by artist. Another Bites the Dust and Bohemian Rhaspody are by Queen, but you wouldn't know it offhand.

If I got an artist wrong, I'll fix it. I'm doing most of this by memory >.>

Enjoy ^_^

Rock (not to be confused with blatantly metal, Metal)

For what its worth, the list is far from complete. I'm just drawing blanks as to songs. Plus I've been at this for awhile now. ._.

The best thing about lists is, of course, disagreeing about them. With that in mind...

Black Sabbath as Rock and Queen as Metal? What were you thinking? My hometown's single cultural export of note, Metal, came through Black Sabbath (and if you extend to region rather than city, we can throw Lemmy and half of Led Zep in as well and, oddly, and only sort-of, Slash).

Recommendation that fits with a few of your metal/rock choices that you might not of heard of: The Almighty, especially aroudn the early-mid nineties (albums to look for: Wrench and Powertripping; song that I've been listening to a bit recently: Jesus Loves You But I Don't, a metal ballad along the lines of some of Metallica's).

I agree! Its one of the best parts about reading/wrinting them.

I could always move some things around. Or it might sit where it may. Really it depends on how much time I have to update (which really depends on how long the lines will be as Im grocery shopping :P). I started the list after having been awake for a long enough period of time that I could've been borderline delierious. I'm not defending my actions on this one. ^_~

I'll definately have to check it out! I've bedn wanting to get around to listen to a few of a coworker's recommendations, but any time I do have that's free, it never crosses my mind. XD

Thanks for the reply Ollie! Always great to hear from a fellow music lover. ^_^

Well, if you want recommendations here's some bands (Keep in mind all these album suggestions are based on my opinion. However, I think you'll like them): Epica (Classical Conspiracy), Nightwish (I like anything of theirs, but try out these two: Once, Century Child), Def Leppard (Pyromania), Dragonforce (Ultra Beatdown), Hammerfall (Legacy of Kings), Kamelot (Karma), Sirenia (The 13th Floor), Within Temptation (Same as Nightwish, but I'd say try The Unforgiving)

Rest assured, there is never too much rap. There is only a distaste for rap. ^_~

I have to agree with Ollie on recategorizing some of your songs. And I'd also like to point out that his home town of Birmingham also gave rise to Judas Priest, who just finished their 17th album, 40 years after releasing their first.

Yep, I was friends in school with a second cousin of Rob Halford. Tyla (Dogs D'Amour) can go on the list too. And, erm, Duran Duran.
