Life is Beautiful

Today's blog is inspired by a song that I like. Its called Life is Beautiful by Sixx A.M. I really like the lyrics of this song.

I've had a few stress weeks as of late. Our lease ends on our apartment at the end of this month. Back at the beginning of the month, we were going to renew, but when we went to the office they said they were going to increase our rent. We wouldn't be able to afford it. So I started the hunt for a new place for us to live. Most of the places that I could find were either too expensive or wouldn't take our dog for various reasons. It was getting really upsetting because we needed to find a place and try to work a deal out so we could move in early, with school and work we wouldn't have time to do it all at once in the middle of the week (we need to be out by the 30th, a Wednesday). It wasn't looking promising, until Kristy talked to her dad who told her that a guy he works with was trying to sell a house but would be looking to rent it out instead. So we took a look at the place. Its an old house so it has a lot of "character." Its a little smaller than our place now, but it has a fenced in yard (which will be FANTASTIC for the dog), a 2-car garage (not that we need it but it will be nice to have), and its cheaper than we are paying here. We signed the lease a few days ago and should be getting the key soon to start moving in. As much as I hate moving I can't wait. I'm not sure what that has to do with the song, but I just thought I'd share something.

I'm not sure if it is this song or HEH's blog that made me think to do this, but this morning while I was walking the dog, there we some ducks and geese by the pond, I decided to take a minute and sit down to watch them, now my dog is an English Pointer (a bird dog) and probably really wanted to catch one of those birds and eat it but she sat ever so patiently next to the bench while I was watching the ducks. I know this is a bit cliche, but it was really really relaxing. Just sitting there watching the birds swim and waddle about. It was peaceful (except for the occasional car that drove by), and (again probably a really big fat cliche) made me forget about a lot of the worries and stresses that I have in my head right now. Maybe I should be spending more time watching the ducks?

I am glad you found some place to live man, house hunting is rough. You will like living in the house better then the apartment as well.. it is more private. Good luck with the move and I don't envy you. Moving sucks.. Just buy some beer for your buds and have 'em come help.

Nether, a house with character? Sounds very cool. You and your dog will love that fenced in area.

Best reset button is definitely to get out and away from it. No matter how cranky-tired or depressed a person gets, a good walk outside works wonders. I'm not some hippie-dippie Californian, but a repeat recipient of chill-out time outdoors. It does work wonders.

By the way, I always figure a computer/net guru like you would be a techno-music freak or something. Definitely cool to hear your choices of music - so danged HEAVY!
