A Savage Journey to a Savage Tourney

Well met!

At last! We go to Maryland! Alas! Without Sherman (work issues). The Gang of Four (-1) is traveling to Dad's My Time to Shine in Savage[,] Maryland. (Should the comma be deleted?) Taeblewalker, chas, and I, four hours in one small car, a night in one small room (stereo snoring), equals one Savage weekend. Hopefully, there will be plenty of places where I can find some late-night amusement (get into trouble?).

Armies for My Time to Shine are limited to "B" or lower units. I am fielding:

240 WoB x 3
140 WWL
100 Syvarris
480, 12 spaces

In this format, and from various posts by those attending, there will be lots of Wolves being played (and a number of Syvarrises, I'm sure), so I am re-painting them. I have already put a coat of the silver I used om my razor for Sweeney Todd on the Wolves, Syvarris' bow, and the Werewolf Lord's paws. (I wanted to re-paint more of the Wolf Lord, but, as an unskilled painter, I'm afraid.) Tonight, I'll put a coat of black on the Wolves and portions of Syvarris' armor. Tomorrow night, for the Wolves, I'll add some blood red (also to the WWL), and re-paint the eyes yellow. When I am done, my army will be a lovely (I hope), blood-stained, black and silver.

Apparently, the recent sturm und drang in the forums, concerning one "coming out" and one going out, is over, for the nonce. The conduct of the Community throughout has been exemplary, for the most part, reflecting the affection and respect we generally have, one for another.

I am looking forward to meeting many with whom I have (all in fun, of course) verbally , in recent times, hanging out late with them and, at the tourney, rending them limb from limb, leaving bits and pieces for the crows!

P.S.: See profile picture of chas and I for another take on our Savage Journey. (That's me on the right.) [If after 5/21/11, see link below.]

Am I to understand, then, that Chas is the one who knows what's going on? If he's Sancho Panza?

Looking forward to meeting you guys & I'll take 3/4 of the Gang. Pack some terrain, please, if there's room in the trunk.

That's right, and I'm the deluded one.

Blood Covers Everything!

Well met!

One coat of silver, one coat of black, inexpertly applied. Fortunately, red will pool at the units' feet, covering errors on the base, and a splash here and there will cover errors on the figures themselves.

4-1 - Fifth Place

Well met!

Went 4-1, loosing to Shaugville's Nakitas/Gorillinator army. Good play on his part, foolhardiness, and bad luck (according to my gracious opponent), on mine. Up to this point, the Wolves had lived up to their billing and torn up my previous opponents in record time, setting me up for an attack of hubris. In retrospect, I shoulda stayed in my start zone, behind the ruins, and sniped with Syvarris (my original plan going in being to force the enemy to come to me, unnecessary in the aforementioned battles).

Congratulations to all those who finished above me, and to all who participated.
