Anticipating A Swell Party!

Well met!

I don't know what to do. Not an unusual occurence, but rare as it pertains to Heroscape. I am of course referring to A Swell Party!

It is going to be chaos. Not that I'm complaining. I created the scenario, after all. But I am so not sure what army to field. There are so many issues that need to be addressed.

Of course, the object of the game is to get the Princess to your Portal, directly under the noses of all the other players and the WoA. I imagine a force, with lots of units that take no leaving engagement strikes, dashing through the battlefield, Princess in tow, blocking units heedlessly throwing themselves in the way of much stronger units, taking heavy losses, to finally make it to its Portal, moments ahead of the ravenous horde of its enemies.

I'm not at all certain that this is doable from the start of the game, but, after a few turns, with most units tied up and/or dead, I expect a lot of games to end this way. What is more likely is that it will be more of a procession than a dash, with one army having the preponderance of troops left. How does one go about building that "one army"?

Certainly, the known strategies for Heat of Battle, delineated in numerous threads, are applicable here. A tournament-winning Heat of Battle army would not, on the surface, be a bad way to go. But that only medium/small heroes may be initially placed in the Ballroom, and the presence of the Common Attack +1 glyph therein, complicates matters. Not to mention the lava. What combination of hero presence in the Ballroom and common squad presence outside are optimal? In spite of the glyph, an all-hero army, dominating the Ballroom, at least initially, could conceivably work.

What about a FE/Kurrok army?
They can all start in the middle, you can take advantage of the common attack glyph, and you can carry with one Elemental while two more run interference.

IHA, Only unique heroes may be initially placed within the Ballroom. Common heroes are treated as unique with respect to glyphs, but are not unique.
