A Sneak Peek - The Wolves of Badru
The Wolves of Badru are a common squad coming out in booster wave 8. Paul Barclay from Wizards of the Coast made their stats public today on our forums.

DARKLORD BONDING
Before taking a turn with Wolves of Badru, you may first take a turn with any Darklord you control.
CLIMB 2X
When moving up or down levels of terrain, Wolves of Badru may double their height.
POUNCE SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 3. Attack 5.
A Wolf of Badru that moved but did not attack normally may use Pounce Special Attack. To pounce, choose a non-adjacent small or medium figure whose base is not higher or lower than 5 levels from the base of the attacking Wolf. If the figure is destroyed, immediately place the attacking Wolf on the space the figure occupied. If the figure is not destroyed, destroy the attacking Wolf.

What is the unit cost? Any word on fixing Khosumet's broken cost and/or defense with that big shield and bio entry? (Can anybody say house rule?)!!!

Wow that pounce attack is pretty risky.

It may be a good unit for the bonding and the Pounce IF they do not cost too much..

This is a great example of using new figures that are solid in their own right to make older figures more useful again. Very exciting!
I agree that the pounce is risky, but it makes for a great mechanic that really acts like the action it represents. |

The risky powers are some of the best! (I'm THRILLED with Darklord Bonding, by the way!)
Adding the risk/reward equation into powers is awesome! One of the fun aspects of the Stingers, for example, is the chance of death when "juicing" for a higher attack. Do I chance it or not? Fun stuff! |

This new wave of wolves should be sweet. High risk could be high reward.

Are there any other darklords besides Khosumet?

Currently, Khosumet is the only unit with 'Darklord' as a class.

Hmm...If these wolves are relentless, that and the bonding would go great with Khosumet.

Nice. a 5 die attack isn't too shabby, either. Should wreak havoc on most squad units. And the additional mobility is nice, too.
The site redesign is awesome, btw! Great job, guys, this looks so much nicer and more professional. The rotating banners are sweet. |

These guys are going to make great Glyph stealers! How often do you kill a figure on a glyph to have another figure replace it right away before you can get it? Not the case with these guys!

Love the pounce... should be very efficient for securing positions held by low defense ranged units... 4th mass. or Aubrien archers for example... just hate those guys...
