Well met!
Just received pictures of last week's meet and greet game, with Glen, his wife, and their friend, Matt, against chas, Sherman, and I.

Here are three shots of my 35 x 25 hex map The Iron Gate. There is a low volcano on one side and a low snow hill on the other. Underneath them are custom desert (volcano) and snow hex terrain. Thanks to first time visitor Glenn for the photos. In the middle, The Iron Gate is the remains of an ancient fortress. In between the three sectors are two rivers that are bridged in the center. Note the use of the two Marvel factories (with a taped ladder each leading to the roof) with castle terrain to form small lookout tower forts. On the Ice Hill, one of Sherm's Airborne Elite is getting ready to fire on Glenn's army, which has Goblins in the fore, which are recognizable by their small new bases. The close up shows another of Sherm's AE in combat with one of Michelle's Protectors of Ullar on the castle wall forming the Iron Pass itself. In another shot you can see Kolakoski's Nilfheim taking on all comers from his high perch. My Kelda would later join him up on the third wall hex to heal his only wound. I made the volcano in a new way for me. I started out with Lava Field 7 hexers, and then put rock over them. the idea was that the lava was beginning to cool and harden on top. This really mixed up the rock and LF, so players had to be careful. In the first two games of three played on this board, both Shurrack and the Warforged Soldiers tried their tricks to get an enemy on one of the two Lava hexes, but didn't manage it! In the third game, our new friends left, and after dinner Sherm fielded two armies against one by me and a second by another pal. We managed to take down both his Captain America and custom Supergirl, and really felt like we had accomplished something! |

Copy the url that's inside the quotes from the gallery. It'll be below the image. Paste that into the box at the top of the post/edit screen.
