Welcome to New Generation Customs, or NGC for short. This project was born in the wake of the unfortunate failure of the Age of Annihilation campaign by a group of would-be creators who didn't want to let any of the units or concepts of AoA die off. With VC having so many ties to the creative team at Hasbro, they could not touch certain things like the "lost units" of AoA without running into legal issues. So we came together to do what VC cannot for the sake of the Heroscape community and the revival that AoA started.

Our mission began with the desire to create community-accepted cards for the "lost units" of Age of Annihilation. But it expanded well beyond that. Our goal now is to carry on the spiritual legacy of AoA: to expand and progress the lore and story of Heroscape, to create new concepts for factions both classic and AoA, to create new factions altogether, new worlds and new generals, new maps, new scenarios, new destructible objects, and new terrain. We seek to do all of the ambitious things that VC does not and make Heroscape feel like a growing and evolving game as it did when it was first released in stores so many years ago.

What sets our project apart?

Setting: We are a lore driven project. We follow the idea of story arcs, chapters, waves, much like the original game and it guides us where we go on our journey. The backdrop for our project is the Age of Annihilation era, we are making everything for our project in the era of the timeskip. This means we will be using the new generals Revna and Volorak along with all the generals from classic.

Unpainted miniatures: We focus on using STLs and 3D printing as our main method of making customs. This ensures that our unit is never out of print or hard to find. If you don't have a printer then we can help to find you a printer in the community to support the greatest game of all time. Cards that we produce will have suggested color palates and units will have painting guides to enable ease of use.

Scenarios, Terrain, Destructible Objects: A tragedy of Heroscape is that it did not continue as long as it should have, the design space of terrain and objects for the battlefield is vastly unexplored by other projects. Because our project is primarily dealing with the realm of 3D printed objects we will be able to delve into this area full force to bring new things to the game that we can all enjoy. Along with this, we will create scenarios for our waves similar to what existed in Hasbro rulebooks.

Clarity, Keywords, Updates: Age of Annihilation was going to start embracing some key words. Our project will also do this by taking some of the most common and simple powers and reducing them to keywords to save space on cards (generally those dealing with movement like flying). We will also be doing some minor updates like changing "twenty sided-die" to d20. There are so many things you can do with the Heroscape system that have not been done, such as cones or shapes other than lines and explosions for special attacks. We look forward to exploring these things and defining them through rules supplements.

Tabletop Simulator, OHS, Events: Our project supports both Tabletop Simulator and Online Heroscape platforms, be sure to check out our steamworkshop(s) as we provide assets and work on creating maps for use in a 3d environment. We also aspire to do online events to help promote our project in addition to supporting local tournament directors that are interested in new material.

Community: Look forward to hearing from us more than once a year. Our project will show off what we are working on very, very early in design to get feedback on it. We want comments, playtests, ideas and community involvement. You will see the playtesting product all the way up until we make final changes for release and can always ask about what we are tinkering with. Once we have developed further, we would like to facilitate community members submitting designs and working on them with us similar to how C3G facilitates group design. They have been and continue to be a major source of inspiration for us and our processes.

Polish up Age of Annihilation Units that weren't full spoiled so they can be played
