He won't be a Hammer Drone because he will be a unique hero. You have have him as Titanium Man or possibly Whiplash from the movie. On a side-note, Whiplash Whopper at BK is delicious.

IAmBatman

Why couldn't a Hammer Drone be a Unique Hero? Anything we only want to do one of could be a Unique Hero.
... But it's not anything I've seen listed thus far. :-D
Also, moving this over here for discussion:

My top five in no particular order would probably be:
Bullseye
Bob
Robin
Gambit (I'm 90% sure he is already being put through the machine)
Hercules or possibly Spider-Thor (the figure makes it all worth while)

Which Robin? Any of those on this list would be fun, I think. :-)

I fulfill all of the criteria for a Design Pass except for having enough Ally Reward Points (I'm short 1 playtest).

As soon as I finish typing up my Black Mask Playtest Report I will have completed all of the criteria for a Design Pass including for having enough Ally Reward Points

My top 5 in no particular order:

Sinestro Corps - Uncommon Hero (Arkillo needs someone to chomp other than Sinestro)
Domino - She's got 9 points on the requested list, and I've got a good idea where to go with her
Paramadic - Common Hero. The common squads are some of my favorite C3G creations. A Common Hero is something else Superscape lacks.
Who ever you want to throw at me.

I didn't even know who Arkillo was before his thread, but now I'm chomping at the bit to play him. If I'm vested in it, I'll do the research.

I'm really hoping you go with the Uncommon Sinestro Corps guys to make Arkillo work to his full potential. Now that we're cracking on Arkillo and Sinestro and have Hal out and some other things in the works, I'm really eager to start really rounding out the Green and Yellow Lantern Corps. :-)

I plan on getting some playtesting done tonight, after I assemble McDooms.

Maybe this will inspire you to make more urban terrain like you planned to at one time. Can't wait to see it on Friday/Saturday.

Used to be all Classic for me until I got involved with C3G.

How much Superscape do you play?

How much mixed Heroscape do you play?

Pretty much none. Although occasionally we'll dip into classic for a low point cost Army Card to round out a team.

How much mixed Heroscape do you play?

Almost all our games are mixed unless we're preparing for a tournament.

I play Heroscape (roughly) every other day. My son wants to play every day, but we don't really pull it off daily (you know, life, job, other kids, etc.). Plus, we do family games about once every other week or so and group games at the local game shop about every month or so and group games at my house about every few months.

My son prefers the Supers, so they get played the most right now. We often play mixed (I like mixing in some squads), maybe even more than pure Supers (usually), but we do plenty of pure Supers as well. (Green Lanturn and Black Panther are frozen in a death match on my Heroscape table as I type...waiting...)

In the last week (as an example), we've played at least 2 pure Supers, 1 pure Valhalla, and at least 1-2 mixed, iirc.

So quick answers:

A) Most weeks (at least every other)
B) Many days (at least a game, sometimes 2-3 a week)
C) A lot (at least a game or two a week, sometimes more)

How much regular Heroscape do you play?

I used to play it as often or more than super stuff before C3G expanded the superscape options for me.

How much Superscape do you play?

More and more all the time - though it's mostly playtesting! :-)

How much mixed Heroscape do you play?

Less and less all the time. I used to play mixed quite often, but that was more due to not having enough superscape options than anything. Now I have a lot of superscape options and I'm combining less and less.

How much regular Heroscape do you play?

Almost never. Maybe once a month.

How much Superscape do you play?

Two times a week, unless Playtesting counts then more.

How much mixed Heroscape do you play?

Almost never, except like Adam said when we need a lowbie to round out a team (usually Isamu with someone like Solomon Grundy, or my Deadpool).

We're definitely conscious of the need for more filler heroes. It's hard to squeeze them in when there are so many more iconic guys we want to do, but there are a few that will be in the works soon (or already are).

How much regular Heroscape do you play?

Just official Valhalla Scape? Once every two months. I have several copies of everything and I use to play once or twice a week for 4-6 hours per session for 3 years.... I am bit burnt out.

How much Superscape do you play?

A couple hours every other night. :addicted: I love comics, my daughters love comics, and I love having something to do with them and in my personal down time that floods my imagination with the characters that I have been in love with for 25 years.

How much mixed Heroscape do you play?

Every once in a while when I need some fillers, or specific units for testing strategies with C3G stuff.

In my mind, that is filler . I don't know, every time I play I tend to play higher point characters, mostly from the repetive trauma of being r**ed by friends super broken customs and having to use Hulk to fight them off. For some reason I am excited about an eventual Captain Cold, I like the alliteration, Onomatopoeia is also on the list of my favorite villains. lol

I apologize for including Captain Cold, I was mostly labeling people that I know under 200 pts, and I couldn't thinkl of anyone on DC side.

This is why we need Kick-Ass Heroclix! :p

What about the Runaways figures they just came out with in the Thor set? Talkback would be pretty cheap. Nico might be a bit more powerful, but not as much as Raven (If we get around to Teen Titans), in my opinion. I don't know how you'd do Arsenic and Old Lace, though, since both are on the base.

So, I know I'm not exactly C3G but I was wondering if I might get a little assist here. I started a thread in the main section of this forum for cleaned-up figure art to be added to backgrounds for figure cards. I was wondering if any of you would be willing to contribute to this thread at all. It would certainly help those of us with limited time and shortened patience with graphics programs. Any assistance would be appreciated, or you could just tell me to go away. I'm good either way. ;)

He's pretty awesome, but I'm disappointed he doesn't have 5 or 6 life. In the comics, he's been beat up, blown up, and whatever else and he just keeps going because of his philosophy that true strength is the ability to withstand pain. Believe me when I tell you, nurses have one of the toughest jobs around and have to deal with a ton of crap from a ton of people and have huge responsibilities compared to most professions by a ton. I've learned a great deal about the inner workings of a hospital since I've been working at one for the past two years. Heck I just learned yesterday that one of the OB/GYN doctors I've seen around (an older guy) is going to stop delivering babies and just do the other part of the job as his insurance will be cut in half. Right now he's paying $90,000/year for insurance. So yeah, I'd stop delivering babies if I could save $45,000/year. In fact, I've heard that there are fewer doctors getting into that field of delivering babies because it cost too much. Lots of expenses being a doctor and lots of expenses running a hospital. In fact, I also just learned that the hospital I work at only gets like 14% reimbursed for medicaid patients and have to right off the rest. In some other situations they only get reimbursed for like 3 days stay and after that, they lose money. Crazy stuff, the hospital business.

I've been working in the medical field for over a decade, and let me assure you that, like every other field, there are good and bad eggs.

That being said however, the people that make up Nursing is an interesting lot.

A few of them are in it because they want to care for people.
Most of the new generation is in it because it's an "in demand" field and the pay is excellent and there are more job openings than they can fill.
The cliche of young women looking for a Doctor to marry is absolutely forfilled in every hospital. Single, and heck even married, Doctors have more attention that they know what to do with.

Pardon, the rant, I digress...

Maternity Nurses come in 3 distinct flavors
* AWESOME - Super Moms of Nursing
* MAN HATING - They can avoid male patients in Maternity
* LAZY - They thought that working with babies and post partum mothers would be easy

Okay, I'm done ranting for now.

I agree Adam, I know there are some rotten apples to be sure, believe me I know some real biatches on the nursing staff and some real jag doctors. But there are some awesome ones as well and those get more attention when it comes to doing work orders in their areas.

And it's not only nurses chasing doctors, it many different people chasing lots of different people and like you said, some are single and some act like they are single.

I do know that the Execs don't care how long someone's been at this hospital and how much someone's given to it, they will fire you in a heartbeat if you don't watch your step. Director of Nursing for a units goes to bat to stick up for her nurses that are getting screwed over, and what does she get for her trouble, fired.

There was a CEO here before I got here that nearly ran the place into the ground. Spending big $ to get his office remodeled, taking a limo to work every day on the hospital's dime and having BMW's for his executive cronies paid for by the hospital. Cutting jobs left and right and when some doctors had a problem with this guy, he told them they knew where the door was and could be replaced. Well that CEO had eventually been bought out with a several million dollar buy out and the hospital is still recovering from the loss of the many doctors that left because of him and took their patients with them. Oh yeah, and there were other million dollar expenditures contracts that this CEO awarded to cronies of his where he got a piece of the action. Joy, joy. :x

I can't, in all honesty, say that Batman has the greatest villains. I do like them but think about it.

WARNING BATMAN VILLAIN RANT
Ooooh, the Joker, he's like the psychotic clown that murders people....ok?

Penguin is a rich guy that has all penguin/bird theme stuff and his robberies tend to be bird themed too. meh.

Riddler....makes riddles and steals stuff.

Catwoman....acts like a cat, but is mostly around for Batman to have a sexual interest.

Scarecrow dresses up like a scarecrow and uses drugs to scare people, but usually goes down like a chump. The drug part is cool, but the rest is meh.

Two Face was a good lawyer, who turned bad when his faced was burned with acid. Don't know why, but now he wants to kill everyone (in the movie he wants to kill everyone except the guy responsible, I do love the movie Joker tho.)

Mr.Freeze.....Do you know what killed the dinosaurs?....THE ICE AGE!!!

All that aside I still love those villains, but would not say they were the "greatest".

I don't feel like defending them in detail, but there really is a lot of good character development which each villain (especially Two-Face dude, come on) and that is why I think so many people love them.
With that said though, all comic Heroes and Villains are cheesy little versions of how we either see our selves or would like to see ourselves. They are the modern day Greek gods and goddesses of western culture.

Alright, I'll bite, haha!

Ooooh, the Joker, he's like the psychotic clown that murders people....ok?So why is he not only Batman's greatest villain, but the greatest villain of all time? Because he is Batman. He's Batman's evil twin basically, holding dear to his heart everything that Batman has sworn to destroy. Most villains have intricate plans to further their evil needs, but Joker does everything for nothing more than fun. He can't be stopped, because there really is nothing to stop. If you throw him in Arkham, he'll have a laugh about it and break out. And if he doesn't succeed in breaking out, he still wins because it was a fun try.

Penguin is a rich guy that has all penguin/bird theme stuff and his robberies tend to be bird themed too. meh.Penguin's not the greatest, no. But all he is is a fat gangster, basically. No powers, nothing. And that's one of the main reasons I love Batman. He feels so much more real because most things about him aren't as outlandish as other heroes.

Riddler....makes riddles and steals stuff.Riddler's kinda weird. But in the same way as Joker, he likes playing games. He's not nearly as deranged as Joker, but mostly he steals stuff and has a bit of run while doing it. If Bats catches him, then darn it, he'll have to think of better riddles next time. :p

Catwoman....acts like a cat, but is mostly around for Batman to have a sexual interest. She really doesn't act like a cat. She's just a cat burglar, and a darned good one. She used to be a minor villain, but eventually turned hero, realizing that her skills could be used for something. And sometimes she's used as a romantic interest for Bats, but I'm pretty sure that Bats doesn't need any women; he's Batman.

Scarecrow dresses up like a scarecrow and uses drugs to scare people, but usually goes down like a chump. The drug part is cool, but the rest is meh.The movie version of him was amazing. I loved him as a drug dealer, hehe... But in the comics he's usually a minor villain. He can cause lots of problems if he puts his fear toxins in the right places, but the simple concept of a villain based totally on fear counteracts the concept of a hero totally based on fear. ;)

Two Face was a good lawyer, who turned bad when his faced was burned with acid. Don't know why, but now he wants to kill everyone (in the movie he wants to kill everyone except the guy responsible, I do love the movie Joker tho.)
Two Face is a tragic hero, and his story is way too long to summarize. Just look at the Dark Knight. He lost his fiance, and while his mind was in disarray, he was deceived by the Joker (Who did it all for laughs anyway!).

Mr.Freeze.....Do you know what killed the dinosaurs?....THE ICE AGE!!! ICE to meet you! AHAHAHAHA!
Seriously, I liked that movie; stop dissing it! ;)

But really, Freeze is another tragic villain. He turned to crime after his accident, because he needed money to save his dying wife. He's practically Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2, except his wife is still alive (I'm pretty sure; she might have died sometime, but as far as I know she's alive).

...And you left out my favorite villain (Alright... tied with Joker...), the only other villain (Besides Joker) who has killed one of Batman's Robins, the man who singlehandedly tool over Gotham City in just a few days....
BLACK MASK!
Black Mask is pretty similar to Joker. Except he rarely laughs. He much more sarcastic, throws a few good jokes here and there, but then proceeds to torture you for information... or just because. He the most ruthless crime lord there is, once even nearly killing Scarecrow (Who loved Mask's work and decided to follow him around while Mask took over Gotham) by throwing him in one of Batman's traps after he ran out of minions to throw.

And heck; he tortured a Robin to DEATH!!!

I think if Superman acted more like he did in those videos, then I would like him more. lol.

I think the Batman movies did a good job with the villains, they made them realistic and interesting.
Ra Al Ghul was done pretty nicely. I liked how they showed him and I thought his deviousness fit his character nicely.
Scarecrow was amazing. His fear toxin made the movie very interesting and I liked how they put the spin of him as a drug dealer.
Two-Face was done very well. I enjoyed him killing everyone involved in the death of his girlfriend.(the car one was the best, driver wasn't so lucky lol).
Joker was absolutely amazing. He made that movie entirely worth it for me. (without him it still would've been a good movie, but with him it was an A+ in my book)

Batman villains are great not for what they are in their own right, but because they each pull out different aspects of one of the greatest (if not the greatest) character's in comics. They each offer Batman a sounding board for a different part of his personality.
Joker challenges his sense of a fair and ordered universe with his randomness and love for death.
Two-Face challenges his sense of justice and thoughts that the system can enact it and that it can be enacted non-lethally. He tempts Batman to cross the lines of vigilantism he does not wish to cross.
Penguin challenges Batman's corporate self - his use of money and connections by offering a counter example of a rich, connected individual on the other side of the law.
Riddler challenges Batman's puzzle solving brain - his greatest detective side.
Ra's lets Batman show off his international secret agent side and challenges his devotion to fighting crime on the small scale with large scale clandestine rationalizations. He also challenges his orphan longing - his longing to have a family to belong to once more.
Scarecrow challenges the man who uses fear as a weapon to face his own greatest fears.
Catwoman tempts his creature of the night side, and his beastial sexuality.
I could go on and on, but these are just a few examples. His villains are great not for what they do on their own, but for what they bring out and showcase in Batman himself.

I have a question is there a guide that actually tells you how to make the new figures. I want to get some of the heroclix and covert then from the C3G but I don't know actually how to do it. Is there a forum for that. Thanks

My quick and cheap method:

1. Print out the C3G card on regular paper.
2. Laminate it. (I have a cheap laminator you can get at craft stores.)
3. Pop off the bottom of the Heroclix base.

Added steps for those minis that need it:

a. Sand down the base so it fits in a ladder rung.
b. Break off the flying stand, drill a hole in the base and glue the mini in the hole.

I watched the mortal kombat video. Now don't get me wrong, I love what Nolan did with Batman, but Hollywood needs to get off their kick of putting fantasy characters into the real world. I mean come on, reptile is a dude with a skin disease? Baraka is a dude that goes Reynolds Deadpool on his arms? This just doesn't work and as a mortal kombat fan it made me sick. I was half expecting "jacks" to say during his rundowns, "this is Barry liebowitz, he was a contractor specializing in basic home electrical, non union of course but he still did good work. Installed a mean track lighting system in my breakfast nook. Not overpowering, just very tasteful for the decor. That was until the real estate colapse hit and he went out of work and began tazing people. Codename Rayden." F you Hollywood.

Bitter is putting it mildly. Real world mk? So let me guess the rest of the character origions, rain is a meteorologist, millena is a dental hygenist and shang tsung is an identity thief? This is gonna be pure crap. What makes mk work is it takes place in places like the living forest, and outworld, and deals with ninjas, creatures and gods. I'm gonna go puke.

I do agree with you, but I am not sure that this is a real movie. From what I could find to read, this may just be a one time (expensive) trailer to promote a game or a career of a certain director. Do you know if anything is confirmed?

Master Tang
June 9th, 2010, 08:03 PM
From what I read when I found that video, nothing is 100% confirmed. It is on imbd.com (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0293429/) though giving the year of 2013 as the publish date. From what the site says it was going to be rebooted by Warner Bros., but there is licensing issues with Threshold Entertainment.

On a side note, as a teenager I was talking to my friends about this movie and we were all pretty happy about it. Yes, it's different then what Mortal Kombat originally was,but then again I didn't care for the original movies and I am a very minor fan of the game (out of all the games I played Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe the most).

I think there are to many factors to really be sure. It depends on what characters they put in it, the actors who they get, the plot, and effects. Those are the main factors that I can think of. The firsy two are the biggest for me, I mean could you picture it if they left Superman out? Also the actors can ruin it as far as I'm concerned, I still rant sometimes about Aflec portraying Dare Devil. He really ruined that movie for me, the only sveing grace was Jennifer Garner playing Elecktra

My concern with that and is for the Avengers is how do they do it and get all the hero and villain characters in there and with enough face time for them without feeling too crowded. Hopefully with the Avengers solo prequels they can establish the characters enough that would allow them to appear in a group movie without re-hashing any background crap. I'd say they might have to do that with the Justice League as well to have it be successful. I'd think that perhaps Batman and Superman might have to have lesser roles to get the others in as we've seen plenty of Batman and Superman in movies and I'd personally want to see more of the others in a JL movie.

Yes I'll totally agree, Aflec killed DD, but what really broke my heart is when Nick Cage brutally violated the role of Ghost Rider. Cage was far too old to play Johnny Blaze. Maybe they coulda used some of that movie CG to take the old off that guy...

Looking forward to the Jonah Hex Movie, even though the origin of his facial scar has been changed. I guess it would be hard to put the back story of being raised by Apatchie Indians in 2 hrs and make it go with the rest of their movie...

Well with Christopher Nolin and Geoff Johns starting to take over the creative side of movie media for DC/Warner Bros, I think things are starting to look up. Christopher Nolin for example has been made the "Shepherd" of all things DC/Movie related once the last Harry Potter movie is over. After that movie, Warner Bros is going to focus everything on making Super Hero movies with Nolin as the Head Honcho. Also, Geoff Johns has been a constant creative and DC historic resource for WB for the animation films and the upcoming Green Lantern film. Things are looking up. 8)

I don't know where you got that info, but I am fairly certain that the JLA bit is completely not true. Sure WB would eventually like to do that, there is no promise, script, plans, not even rumors of that happening anytime within the next decade. Also, Superman 2? What the heck dude? That is completely misleading. Christopher Nolin has been chosen by WB to "Shepherd" the complete reboot of the Superman franchise. WB and Nolin have both said that it will be in its own universe like Batman, and have nothing to do with any other film, especially the failed Superman Returns. WB wants to desperately get away from its failure of that film. Superman "Man of Steel" will take place during Superman's career, so this is not an Origin Story at all. Lex will be in it, but Brainiac is the main villain. David Goyer (Nolin's right hand writing man) is currently writing the script, and Johnathan Nolin (C. Nolin's little brother) will be the director. Nolin will not say much more beyond that because he wants to market and advertise his newest film "Inception" to be released next summer. After that, Nolin says that he will be finishing up his last Batman movie, and then he will be focused on rebooting Superman "Man of Steel", not Superman 2!

They can't and will not loose any rights forever or ever... Here is what you are looking for:
August 2009 saw a court ruling in which Jerry Siegel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Siegel)'s family recaptured the rights to Superman's origins and Siegel's copyright in Action Comics 1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_Comics_1), while the Shuster estate had also won a court ruling similar to the Siegal case. It was ruled that Warner Bros. and DC Comics still retain ownership of certain aspects of Superman's character that appeared outside of the original Action Comics 1, such as the S-shield logo, the name of the Daily Planet Newspaper, the character of Jimmy Olsen, most of Superman's villains (including Lex Luthor), and Superman's established set of powers (including flight).[94] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_%28film_series%29#cite_note-93) In a related ruling, a judge ruled that Warner Brothers did not owe the families additional royalties from previous films, however if they do not begin production on a Superman film by 2011, then the Shuster and Siegel estates will be able to sue for lost revenue on the unmade film.[95] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_%28film_series%29#cite_note-94)

According to IESB, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have their sights set to release The Man of Steel on Christmas 2012.[100] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_%28film_series%29#cite_note-99)

On March 10, 2010, Christopher Nolan himself confirmed that he and Goyer have been working on an idea for a Superman film. Nolan says, "He basically told me, 'I have this thought about how you would approach Superman.' I immediately got it, loved it and thought: That is a way of approaching the story I’ve never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting. I wanted to get Emma [Thomas] and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way… A lot of people have approached Superman in a lot of different ways. I only know the way that has worked for us that’s what I know how to do."

Yep that's it but not all of it. There was more about the right's reverting back to the family in 2013 & because the way WB have handled it the family said they wouldn't renew their agreement with them. Wish I remembered where it was I read that, it might have even been in a printed article.

I think the best way to make the character of Superman less lame is to, once and forever, kill of Clark Kent. Just let him be Superman. :-)
But, that's just me.
As far as if a good Justice League or Avengers movie can be done? I think yes, but it is a big challenge. I think the X-Men movies, though I found each of them to be flawed, did show that ensemble superhero movies can be done.

He made an entire freaking island of Kryptonite, tricked Superman into coming there, beat Superman up with a piece of Kryptonite, and then snapped off a piece inside of Superman. And after all that, Superman was just fine and dandy in 5 minutes or less.
I mean, seriously - Kryptonite is deadly to this guy?? More like a mild allergy!

Who wants to review Superman, Superman II, Superman III, and Superman IV?

IAmBatman
June 10th, 2010, 04:30 PM
Here's my review ...
Superman I - instant classic in the first 15 minutes ... and then he became Superman. At that point it was ... OK. Lois was kind of annoying, but, whatever. It still would have been salvageable, even with Lex's lame ocean front property subplot if it weren't for the exceedingly ridiculous fly around the world Deus ex Machina rewrite the past ending. One of the lamest movie endings of all time.

Superman II - a perfectly acceptable movie despite all the Lois throwing herself out of buildings to try to prove Clark Kent is Superman nonsense, right up until ... they had the same exact ending as the first one!!! Seriously lame. I mean is that all Superman does? Undo history? Technically none of the events of the first two movies happened due to that ... something I think we should all remember when trying to decide whether or not to watch them. Lame.

Superman III and IV - Why would I bother after those first two?

quozl

I mostly agree with you about Superman I except I found Lex's ocean front property subplot funny, which I think is what they were going for.

Superman II just sucked.

In Superman III, they went for the funny again but it wasn't funny, sadly. However, there is a cool scene where Good Superman and Bad Superman battle it out in a junkyard.

Superman IV is pretty boring although it had some cool stuff with Clark going back to his high school reunion.

I agree with you Bats that Lex was robbed in Superman Returns but he should never have been in the situation in the first place as Superman's computer thingy in the Fortress is only supposed to respond to him so they blew the them in the first 5 minutes. But Lex was great, Metropolis was great, & all over characters apart from Supes, Lois & her boy were great. There were some great scenes too, like the saving Metropolis from the falling glass while flying in the opposite direction (although I have to ask what happened to the people in the adjacent streets were they all skewered by the falling glass?)

And what was with the whimpy unsure Superman? That's ok for his Clark persona but come on. George Reeve played the best Superman, confident & strong. I would say the next would have to be Dean Cain. He was confident & strong with a bit of humour mixed in.

But no time travelling undo's please.

Not sure if everyone saw this (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=30298)

Any C3G member is invited of course and if you have to travel and want to come, I can assure you a place to stay for the night (either day before or after). Appleton does have an airport within a few miles of the store and my house. Just thought I would let ya'll know (*cough* Hahma, it's only 4 hours and change)

In Superman III, Supes crunches a lump of coal into a huge diamond. That's just cool.

Yeah, Bad Superman in general was pretty fun.

EDIT: Maybe I should make a Bad Superman Heroscape custom. Hmm....Already been done. C3G Lex Luthor + C3G Superman = Evil Superman
