Yeah, careful stacking will help keep your game boxes and components in good shape, but spining them seems to pose the least amount of damage to them. If a game has a good insert, you won't have to worry about things sliding around. A good package design will take spining into account. The games with poor pacakaging or inserts can be fixed with snack sized baggies.
Anyway, I don't know if spining is the ultimate answer, but there is a definite difference in my game boxes that have been spined and not spined. I guess time will tell
