Staying logged in???

I don't understand why I am randomly logged off. Sometimes I'll stay logged in for a week. Sometimes I have to log in for each visit. I don't get it.

I am using Safari on a Mac OS 10.3.9.

Any thoughts?

It's not just you, it happens to me a great deal, I imagine it's nothing big.

Seems to happen if you double-click links or get too impatient and click links twice.

I thought it was some kind of auto-timeout that only works with various places you are logged in and depends heavily on your internet settings. But I really dont know for sure.

I have the same problem, I also use mac osx with safari. Seems to be random.

It happens to me with my dial-up, but not my broadband connection (I'm using a PC), if that's any clue.

I use broadbandand it happens to me sometimes. Just a slight annoyance really though.

On my own forums, users often had this problem if they bookmarked the site without the www. in front of it. The cookie from the site includes www. in the name, and their bookmark doesn't, so it doesn't recognize them. Clearing their cookies and fixing the bookmark always took care of the problem.

I'm not saying that's what's going on here exactly, but it's likely to be a cookie issue.

It happens to me also. I could belogged on for a week and then every time I leave log off. It is annoying.

Its a plague actually.. seems you've caught it.
I used to be clean, but now I got it too...
I have about 1.4 years left to life (it's fatal apparently).

It affects all phpBB forums. I have membership at 4 different once on 3 different servers, all have the same problem.
People always claim to know why, but I challenge you to come up with a sure fire way to make it log you out when its not supposed to.
You won't so don't waste your time, and no.. don't try to blow up the server or something.

I've never figured it out, but I think its a thing about cookies and databases and when something gets out of sync it just kills the cookie.
