Yay! Finally. FB's
hay, i finally got my FB's in the mail today. totally shiney. and it only cost me some phone time, retail price and $6 in shipping. the boxes are soooo much smaller then what i am used to seeing in HS pacakaging. they're sooo cute, just want to prop them up on a shelf somewhere.
anyway, those of you out there still hunting, have faith (and a little creativity). i was able to avoid the E'Bay Rogues. you can too... ...the rich (My HEX Game Files @ http://www.scribd.com/_the_rich) Lawton/Fort Sill Heroscape (monthly?) So small! So cute! Hrrmpf. Field Alcolarh a few times and see how 'cute' attempting 3 symbols out of 10 dice is. Congratulations on finally scoring some Crest. |

i commented how i pulled it off over on the yahoo group, but here it is in a nutshell::::
i'm down in SW oklahoma. the nearest TRU is north texas (hour south). so i called "hunting" without success. but was able to find out that if i could find them "within" their distribution area (the area serviced by one warehouse), that i could get a store to store transfer done. it takes cooperation between the managers of both stores (read: gotta be kind and polite) and a lot of time. well, i searched that area. NOT! so, since i'm a "displaced" buckeye, i tried a different approach and started searching stores up in my home town area. i foudn a store on the outter edge of their area with all 5 and checked about a transfer to a store up north. then i contacted the store near an old friend (16 years?) in my home town (5 miles away). the manager there that i talked to used to be a 91 bravo here at the base i live near (i used to be a 13 bravo/76 yank back in the day). so after some casual chit- chat, a few laughs about this (ugh) town, she agreed to contact the other store and arrange the transfer. while that was going on, i sent cover money to my friend dianna (sent her $100), along with a PDF of what was due to come in. a month later, the manager called me and said they were in. di ran over and picked them up and shipped them out the same day ($5.96 bulk mail) and 4 days later, here they are. she even came out $20 to the good. told her to keep it. so i was able to get them shipped 1300 miles for only $80. quite a bargin in my book. now i want a second Einar one, he's just too awsome looking. so, a little luck, a little phone time, a little effort. never know what you can find. good hunting everyone. i talked with the TRU Manager in Everett, WA then too. she had tons of them. so if you know anyone Seattle area that could get over there and pick them up for you... ...the rich (My HEX Game Files @ http://www.scribd.com/_the_rich) Lawton/Fort Sill Heroscape (monthly?) Sorry if I missed this, but how search the system to find them in the first place? Just calling the various Toys-R-us's?

Call any TRU and ask the service desk for floor stock of item #554070. Thats the TRU stock code for FB's. Ask if they have any backstock (unopened cases of 12 (3 utgar/Jandar, 2 of the rest).
Ask them also to query the stock of stores in the genral area too, they can do that. GENERATION 27: The first time you see this, copy it into your signature on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment |
