The Dark Age of Vallhalla
You may know me from the Legend's of Vallhalla but now I'm here to bring you a brand new story line that poses a question. What would happen in Valhalla without the five Archkyries?
~~~ Prologue The Dark Age of Vallhalla As Dawn broke over Laur, James Murphy raised his cup of crudely made coffee to his lips.He shuddered at the warmth brought by the heat of his coffee. He could not believe the turn of events that had happened in the last week. No one knew what truly happened, but every Archkyrie on the face of Vallhalla had vanished. Not only that, but the Wellsprings had all gone berserk. They were wipping out soldiers at will. Warriors now feared going anywhere near the wellsprings, fearing death. The worst was the Wellspring of Obsession. At least once a week its waters would suddenly fill with warriors then bloodshed would ensue and not a single one ever survived. Yet none of this was the worst thing. Every army of Vallhalla had split. No one was allied with anyone. On any day you could see Venocs fighting Elves, Wolves fighting Deathwalkers, Vikings battling Highlanders, and Samurai fighting Greeks. It was utter madness. Yet, James felt a small sense of security. There he was at Migol's Tomb, a place uninhabited for years. He had spent the last two days there and hadn't seen a soul. But in his heart, James knew that no one was safe in the Dark Age of Vallhalla... ~~~ Stay tuned for Chapter 1: Wolf Swamp Road |
And so it continues...
~~~ Chapter 1 Wolf Swamp Road Dawn slowly crept over Nastralund as Khosumet awakened. His wolves were precariously perched in random positions along Wolf Swamp Road. Khosumet's armies had seriously shrank since the Dark Age began because every last Dumetef Guard left his ranks. Half of his wolves left as well. When this happened, Khosumet changed all of his plans of domination into plans for survival. In the days following the generals disapearance, wvery army split and it became a fight for survival. The next fight was to happen right here on this very road... A band of three elves slowly marched into the swampy area around the road. Khosumet knew the elves very well. They were three powerful wizards. They were Morsbane, Acolarh, and Sonlen. The three were dangerous, but Khosumet had the element of suprise. The wolves slowly prepared for battle but the creature on Sonlen's shoulder perked up. Sonlen nodded. They knew of the wolves presence. The creature flew into the air and Morsbane and Acolarh shot a beam of energy at it. The creature grew ten times its original size. It grew into......a dragon. The beast began to incinerate the trees until all that was left was Khosumet and thirty wolves. They were no match for the dragonn and the elves. Khosumet would not show a bit of fear. The dragon reared back and then.... "STOP!" Morsbane had yelled at the top of his lungs. "Let them live." he continued. "WHAT!" Acolarh and Sonlen exclaimed. "But he..." "I know what he did, but not even he deserves to die like this." Morsbane stared at him. "Khosumet, if you let us pass unharmed, we shall not fight you any longer." Khosumet called off his wolves. The elves quickly ran down the road and out of sight. Khosumet was bewildered at Morsbane offer. Though Khosumet knew he didn't deserve it, Morsbane had shown him mercy. Next time, Khosumet thought, I'll return the favor... ~~~ Stay tuned for Chapter 2: Showdown at the Searing Pass |

The Dark Age goes on...
~~~ Chapter 2 Showdown at the Searing Pass It was at the border of Kinsland and Volcarren that a battle would soon ensue. One that would finally shift the unsteady balance of power across the divided Valhalla... As Alastair and his followers marched into the Searing Pass, heat was not the only thing that they felt but they felt a dark and ominous feeling deep within them. As they entered the pass, they scanned the terrain ahead of them. There were two rivers on opposite sides of the pass. If they took those, crossing wouldn't bee dangerous at all. They all entered the waters and then... Huge fireballs were hitting the water all around them. There were Obsidian Guards in the pass! "DIVE DOWN!" Alastair ordered. The MacDirks all dove beneath the surface of the water. Alastair saw the break in fire and quickly surfaced. On the other side of the pass, the bodies of his warriors were floating in the now flaming river. He heard a huge scimitar swinging through the air as he dove down. Through the water he was able to see the slightly distorted outline of Brunak. He looked over and saw some of his MacDirks surfacing one by one, breathing, and resubmerging. Alastair knew it was time for his stand. While underwater, he turned to his men and signaled them by raising his sword. They knew what to do. All of the MacDirks but three would swim around and attack. The other three would continue submerging as a distraction. They all submerged and took a deep breath and continued on... Within the pass, the Trolticor was shouting orders to his guards every few moments. "ATTACK THAT HEAD!" he screeched as a MacDirk submerged. This continued until he saw something near the banks. A massive stream of bubbles were hitting the surface. He saw their plan and decided to meet it... As the MacDirks submerged, they were met by Brunak and his army. Obsidian Guards surrounded them onthree sides. There was only one thing left to do. "ATTACK!" both generals bellowed. The guards moved to attack, but before they could, Alastair killed one and then lept towards Brunak. They started the clash of swords... The sounds of clashing metal reverberated throughout the pass. CLANG! CLACK! CLING! Bodies of Obsidian Guards and MacDirk Warriors lay all around. But then the lava geyser in the center of the pass exploded. Lava was flying everywhere. Visibility was completely gone as the MacDirks retreated to the waters for safety. The lava gushed for five minutes. When it cleared, Brunak and the Obsidian Guards were no whre to be seen. Alastair now had his own base camp... ~~~ Stay tuned for Chapter 3: The First Alliance |
The Dark Age, continues...
~~~ Chapter 3 The First Alliance On a shadowy evening in Vallhalla, the tide of battle would soon shift... As James Murphy awakened, he saw the blood-red moon hovering low in the sky. He looked around. He was directly over the catacombs of Migol’s Tomb. That strange moon in the sky, erased all security from James’s mind. And then, he heard it. There were no voices, just grunting. And he heard the feet. Hundreds, maybe thousands of feet just walking. And then he saw them. Zombies. They were all marching towards the catacombs. He knew that they knew he was there. He swung his whip and hurtled down the edge of the cliff. And he was face to face with them. He pulled out his trusty shotgun and started picking them off. The explosions wounded all nearby zombies. And soon they were a foot away from him. He pulled the trigger and… CLICK! CLICK! He was out of ammo, out of time, and out of luck. He had his back to the wall and then he heard a pistol fire killing zombie after zombie. It was Guilty McReech. He saw zombies dropping like flies further back. Shotgun Sullivan was firing away. Then he saw a strange character behind the zombies. It was the Necromancer. He could here the Necromancer’s voice, raging and screeching at the top of his lungs. Guilty and Sullivan were beside Murphy now. They were cornered. And then they heard a single shot ring out in the cold evening. And then they saw the Necromancer fall. Fall from his high hill. And then the bones of the zombies just crumbled to the ground. They knew who was on top of the cliff above the catacombs. And James knew that the first alliance of these dark times, had been made… ~~~ Stay tuned for Chapter 4: A Blood Stained Table |
