OmegaX01 is surprisingly tart
Attack bonuses for flanking?

Granted i know this line of thought is probably due to the fact that i won't get to play my weekly D&D game tomarrow night. (damn super bowl party cleanup) but i was thinking if you have 2 characters on oppsite sides of an eniemy character wouldn't it seem to make sense that these 2 characters would get +1 to their attacks against the figure? *guess just random thoughts today since it's a slow day.

I don't know if they are on this incarnation of the site, but in the past there have been many members who developed "advanced tactical rules", if you will, for HS. Flanking and such were definitely apart of those.

I've been playing a lot of BattleLore recently, and I really dig these types of tactical play.

On the other side of the coin, when playing HS I equally enjoy the straightforward mechanics and having the game rely on figure combinations for the joy of discovery while playing...

Erasmas Woo who?
I actually have the write-up for a custom squad that I am making that have this ability. They are rogue/thief/bandit types, so it made sense to give the ability to them. As far as giving it across the board, I think it would be better left to a few units... that way it's a 'difference' in the usual combat system and therefore more unusual.
Besides, with the way movement works in HS as opposed to D&D, it would be way too easy for any figure to achieve the positioning for this. Figures can literally walk in circles around an engaged figure with no penalties.
