Assassin Custom WARNING NUDITY Now with Tater Tots

I was wondering if you guys could give a decent evaluation of this custom character. The figures will be little cloaked assassins. They are powerful but not. Like a strategic piece.

70 Points

Utgar
Human
Common Squad
Assassins
Tricky
Medium 5

1 Life
Move 5 Spaces
Range 2 Spaces
Att 1 Dice
Def 3 Dice

Backstab
Special Attack - Rage 1, Attack 4
Choose a friendly figure already engaged with an enemy and target the engaged enemy. May only target small or medium figure.
Backstab can only be used from the opposite side of the friendly figure.
If any damage is dealt to enemy figure, destroy it regardless of life points.

Squad figs and common heroes always have just one life each because it gets dificult to keep track of who is wounded and who is not.

You could do something like the brothers tor card, and say when the card has two wound markers all three figures are removed from the game.

A few comments quickly glancing at the card:

• Perhaps change their Move to 6, and Attack to 2.

• As mentioned above, you can't approach a figure from the "opposite side" as figure facing is not a mechanic in HS.

• How about the following ability definition:

"BACKSTAB: Range 1, Attack 3
Backstab may only be used on an opponent's small or medium figure that is engaged. If an assassin rolls a skull on every die, the defending figure is destroyed. Otherwise, the targeted figure rolls defense as normal."

A different mechanic, so take from it what you will.

Basically here's the idea. I played about 6 months on World of Warcraft as a rogue. The whole idea is a unit that is weak and useless, UNLESS it sneaks up on the opposite side (backside) of an already engaged unit. Say your viking warrior is attacking a samurai. The assassin move up on the opposite side of the samurai (opposite across from the viking) and does a one hit kill IF the target is medium or smaller and IF they can break through their defense .

The 'supposed' balance comes in that the Assassins are very weak and will die quickly, but are support units.

For more balance, I think I will add the following:

"Assassins may not target and enemy engaged by any other Assassins."

so the three of them can't gang up on a guy. They HAVE to engage with a non assassin unit. I don't know. Any ideas on fair play balance?

ALSO, I've noticed people who make customs like to pour on tons of abilities like add +X to STAT for all units with faction/type nearby. Or the classic Special Attack - Range FOREVER Attack INSANE NUMBER.

Gameplay balance makes or breaks the fun. So lets widdle these puppies down and get them balanced.

EDIT: There is nothing on this card that specifies ANYTHING about figure facing. Only figure placement. It does not suggest the enemy has to even HAVE a back or that the Assassin must attack a back. It specifies that the Assassin must pincher attack from the opposite side of a friendly figure.
The 6 movement may be usable, but the attack is low for a reason.

So I'll take from what you've done.

I like them, I loved the models, are those Rachkman (sc) mini's? Can you explain why they have range two? Because if they are using a melee weapon with a range of two, you might want to add the special ability "Reach" but if it is a regular Ranged weapon leave it be.

Maybe a great effect like

"Seduce-
Make an attack roll of 5. If attack does damage, instead negate damage and target becomes inactive. Target cannot be used until Succubus breaks Seduce. While using Seduce, Succubus cannot attack, move, or use special abilities. At the beginning of every round, Succubus must roll Seduce again or Seduce is broken. If Seduce is broken, Succubus cannot be used that round."

Or something to that effect.
