Oh How I Hate Cyprien Esenwein...

So tonight I had my most epic 600 point battle of my scaping life.

It was a five way battle in which my one friend used an army of basically all orcs.

Her boyfriend used his Knights of Weston army, with Gilbert, Denrick, and one squad of Templar Calvary.

The new player of the group used his army of samurai which contained one of each of the squads, the flag barer, and Kaemon Awa.

I used my army of four squads of Death Knights, four Dumutef Guards, Raelin and Taelord.

Last was my brother, who used a random assortment of heroes. The only one I really worried about was his set of the two Vampires, but more so Cyprien Esenwein.

The knights were quickly vanquished by the samurai and my brothers heroes and the orcs fought down to only a couple pieces.

I moved in and defeated the remaining samurai, getting taken down to two Death Knights, a one wounded Raelin, and a Taelord with one life left.

As I made my way across the map to reach the other army, my brother, who lost all his pieces except for a Cyprien Esenwein with four lives left, took out the orc army.

We were in range to engage with one movement at the end of our second to last round. I gained initiative with a roll of twenty and put all my order markers on my knights. With my first attack, I was able to engage the vampire with one Death Knight and Taelord, whose attacks took the vampire down to one life.

I had never won a match when all of us got together and my heart was beating at the thought of my first victory.

With my brothers next move, he rolled a sixteen on his chilling touch in order to kill my Taelord and then took out my engaged Death Knight when I rolled zero shields on all the dice I rolled, removing two wounds from his vampire and removing the joy in my soul.

With my next attack, my last Death Knight rolled for zero skulls and was taken out with a chilling touch in my brothers next turn.

With two turns lost, my spirit was crushed, my brothers vampire moved in on my Raelin and rolled a twenty on his chilling touch on his first try to seal my fate.

My chance at first glory was lost in one round...Oh How I Hate Cyprien Esenwein...

Ha, thanks dude, I appreciate it . Alas, it is a band-aid for a bullet wound .

On the plus side, the new guy we were playing with decided to leave his pieces at my house for us to use until he plays with us again! Samurai FTW!!!

Cyprien, against non-soulborgs, and especially heroes, can be brutal. Obviously soulborgs are a hard counter to the nasty little vampire, but almost equally good are large concentrations of inexpensive ranged squads. Shoot him 4x turn and he leaks like the rest of 'em. Nice battle report!

Same here! In the one tourney I've been to, I've gotten a 20 on an unwounded Sgt.Drake, An unwounded Nilfheim,And a Zelrig with 2 wounds. I love Cyprien

I don't think that will help If your Bro plays him right, He'll get the first attack on Brandis. Once Brandis is engaged both his powers are useless.

I don't know who you have, But Major X17 + Theracus is probably the best Cyprien counter. Have Theracus Carry X17 and land him next to Cyprien. Cyprien is then stuck in one place until X17 is dead or decides to go for a walk It's almost impossible for Cyprien to kill X17 because Chill touch doesn't work on Soulborgs, And his 3 attack will have a hard time getting through 7 defense and 5 life. I hope this helps.

I have to disagree with you there dude. Glads+Blade is the best Vamp counter hands down.
