Born in Ullar's kingdom in Ekstrom, Amore always stood out from her peers due to her beauty and her striking red hair. She was trained as a warrior in the service of Ullar, but despite her skill she never really took to battle.

Amore always adored stories of love and romance, and as she grew older her faith in the power of love grew ever stronger. As she continued to speak fervently about her beliefs, her name became known throughout Ekstrom and beyond as a teacher, counselor, and matchmaker. In recognition, Ullar himself bestowed on her the enchanted bow Sjofn, which has the power to bring love to even the darkest of hearts.

But giving her this gift turned out to be a mistake. Amore became more and more obsessed with love, and took it upon herself to fill the heart of every being with it -- using Sjofn to bend people's hearts as she saw fit. Despite numerous warnings, Amore refused to change her ways, and Ullar was forced to banish her.

Weary from wandering the wilderness alone, Amore was captured by one of Utgar's warbands. The warband's commander, Cyprien Esenwein, recognized her skill and potential, and deceived the young kyrie with clever words and false promises. To be allowed to continue to spread the gospel of love to all corners of Valhalla, Amore decided that even following the evil archkyrie Utgar was not too high a price to pay.

Since then Amore has continued to fight amongst the ranks of Utgar's hordes, desperate to fill every heart with love, no matter the cost.

Voluptas was the daughter of Cupid; since this figure sculpt is obviously not a male, some derivative of the Voluptas name made sense, both for the holiday and for the general theme of the card.
