Comparing them to other two-man squads, I think you're right. They might be better if played with Mittens and Mohicans/Vipers/Spiders/Romans, but they might not be worth 60.
When you played them, how many squads did you use, and did you have mittens+some sort of ranged unit? They probably could go down to 50-55, but I think that they work great if you have 3-4 squads of them plus the mittens/range combination.

I had 4 squads + 2 marro stingers and Mimmrig.

The first match I just got completely hosed by Vampires...chill touch and stealth flying (with drain) decimated them. This army was particularly vulnerable to it so I had my son put together another one. He choose Elves and it was much closer but we decided to give the raptors 3 attack dice instead of just 2. I would have liked to try it against another army that was using squads and see how that went but we didn't get the chance, may today we will. It just seems that "call for help" just doesn't happen often enough to make it that strong a power.

Re: Threforian Raptors: Pre-Auggies Discussion

Here is the newest version of the Raptors. It makes Call For Help happen more by eliminating the restriction to normal attacks. I also dropped the number of Raptors needed for Pack Assault down to one and bumped the points down from 60 to 55.

Re: Threforian Raptors: Pre-Auggies Discussion

I do not think removing the restriction to normal attacks is a good idea. It causes too many strange situations with special attacks. Take, for example, DW9k's explosion attack, which says it affects all figures adjacent to the targeted figure. If a Raptor moves out of adjacency before it rolls defense dice, is it still affected? When does the game check the adjacency requirement, at the time of the attack or each time a figure is chosen to roll defense dice? Even stranger, think of Gurei-Oni's Tetsubo Special Attack. He chooses an adjacent figure and a figure adjacent to that figure. If he chooses a Raptor adjacent to his target, what does it mean when the Raptor moves away?

I believe that abilities like Scatter and Scurry were limited to normal attacks primarily to avoid complications like these. The weakness to special attacks was just an interesting side effect.

Re: Threforian Raptors: Pre-Auggies Discussion

Sorry for the long wait, but here is the newest update:

I plan on submitting this to Auggies SoV Sunday night, assuming their is nothing else that needs to be changed before then.

"If you roll a nine 9 or higher"

"immediately"

Otherwise, looks good.

There's a typo in the first power with "tou" that should be "you"

Re: Threforian Raptors: Pre-Auggies Discussion

When testing their price point, I'd especially recommend comparing them to the Sahuagin Raider, Dumutef Guard and Wyrmlings. The Sahuagin and Dumutef have easier ways to get comparable attack numbers, and the Wyrmlings have more effective multiple activations.

Thanks for the suggestion, here is the card with the revised point cost. If no one finds a problem with it by Saturday morning, then I will submit it to Auggies.
