Here's a pretty versatile army, the only problem some may have with this build is no special attacks:

That's 31 hexes the limit is 24.

For a long time I was planning on bringing
Stingers x6 Braxas Q10 720/22 because it splits so elegantly into two 360 point factions without any filler, but because Wannok was in the glyph pool I wanted to work in Marcu, so today I fielded Stingers x5 Braxas Q9 Marcu Isamu 720/21 Not quite as pretty, but a bit tougher. And thanks to an unusually cold d20 (that die usually loves me-I've never been burned as much by Drain as I was today ), I needed the extra beef Q9 brought.Some other armies that showed up today: personwholives (5-0) Kurrok FEs x15 Zeta 705/18 Typhon2222 (4-1) Minions x5 Atlaga Concan 720/17 1moreheroscaper (4-1) Q9 Krav Kelda Zombies x6 RoninValentina (4-1) KoW x5 Gilbert Alistair Q10 710/24 cmgames Q10 Braxas Glads x3 Blasts x2 Robert Hydras x6 Frankie Drow x6 Pelloth Darrak Othkurik Carnival Boy Charos Braxas Mimring Othkurik Otonashi Last edited by Killometer : April 15th, 2012 at 12:08 AM. |

Hey, I had isamu in there too, he just didn't ever really do much, except sacrifice himself to wannok in one game, and occasionally carry the x order marker.

A somewhat decent army:
Phantom Knights x5- 350 Sir Dupuis- 150 Major Q9- 180 Eldgrim- 30 Isamu- 10 720 points, 20 hexes. We all know that the Krav, the 4th Mass, and anything else that outs its faith in long, powerful ranged attacks fear the Phantom Knights. I've played against an army with 5 squads before, it's not pretty for range or melee. Once you sufficiently engage the enemy with the PK's, charge out Sir Dupuis, who will have his attack boosted to a very respectable 7 dice, and 9 move once Eldgrim gets on his card. Good luck hiding ranged special attackers from that. Q9, as we know, is Q9. Hide him behind an ectoplasmic screen, and pummel any screen units that give your knights trouble. Isamu is annoying if you get lucky on the D20, ad if you're not, odds are good that if he has to go into the fight, most of your army is dead already. So to recap, this army has what most good armies should have. 1) A common-squad bread 'n butter core, which can double as a screen. 2) A very, very fast beatstick that has synergy with the core squads. 3) A glyph-grabber that will help boost one of your units to maniacal 9-move/7- attack powerhouse. 4) A ranged Special Attacker for screen units that'll harass the core soldiers. 5) The cheap-o filler. |
