Re: The Book of Black Cat ~ Design Phase
The problem is which power to sub out for it. I'd hate to see anything else leave the card. I suppose you could remove Expert Climbing and give her 7 move.

How about a new version of AM that has some climbing abilities added in. EDIT: Which it already has, Doh. Another option might be to add in a defensive ability into the Cat Burglar power. EDIT: On second thought maybe just a high Defense (4L,5D). Then maybe add in Cat Claws for attack bonus and climb ability. Boiling some designs down to three powers is tough, especially if they lack Flying and Super Strength. Looking forward to what Porkins does with this. Enjoy Italy. Funny, this is looking a lot like what I had in my original draft that was deemed too powerful: Quote:
OK, so I think we are agreed that life should stay at 4. If we use the badder version of Bad Luck OR Acrobatic Maneuver, then Defense should stay at 4, methinks...EDIT: probably 3D if she has AM. |

Re: The Book of Black Cat ~ Design Phase
ACROBATIC MANEUVER for reference:
When Harley Quinn rolls defense dice against an opponent's attack, one shield will block all damage. For each shield rolled, you may immediately move Harley Quinn one space up to 6 levels up or down. When Harley Quinn moves using Acrobatic Maneuver, she will not take any falling damage or leaving engagement attacks. |

Re: The Book of Black Cat ~ Design Phase
I won't weigh in too much, as really any of these options would fit the character and I wouldn't mind any of them. But here's my thoughts:
I can get behind 9 lives representing a 'luck' factor wherein she is able to survive attacks that would kill many others. However, Life in C3Gscape has been a rather concrete idea (Catwoman being the major exception), and it's not a perfect fit here in my opinion. My primary reason for liking it would be keeping her defense down, which in my opinion, should be in the range of either Hasbro or C3G Spidey. Acrobatic Maneuver and Expert Climbing are kind of interchangeable and either fits, although Expert Climbing is a great power that has not been seen too often and I think is a bit more on theme here. There are other figures that would do well with Acrobatic Maneuver (Nightwing, Mockingbird maybe, a First Class Beast), so I feel it will be seen again plenty. However, it's probably more useful than Expert Climbing and would keep her defense down. Honestly my preferred approach would be to keep her defense down and up the 'defensiveness' of Bad Luck Aura (not sure about wounding, but maybe have it kick in more frequently than against all skulls?), as I feel she probably relies more on luck than skill to survive. |

Re: The Book of Black Cat ~ Design Phase
Actually, here's another thought on my 'Charm' approach (which Bats didn't like for solid technical reasons), tied into Cat Burglar:
CHARMING CAT BURGLAR Black Cat can move through all figures and never takes leaving engagement attacks. Black Cat cannot be attacked by adjacent figures carrying Equipment Glyphs and after moving, if there is no Glyph on this card, you may choose an Equipment Glyph on the Army Card of any figure Black Cat passed through and place it on this card. Same basic premise, but adds in the fact that she charms her 'marks'. Basically, she slinks up and whispers sweet nothings in their ear, and grabs the goods and runs (after which they realize what she's done and will attack her. Also adds some strategic choices to whether or not she goes Burglaring and makes her a bit less niche, as she becomes an even effective counterdraft to figures like Mar-vell, Red Skull, etc. And it's not broken, because the 'charmed' figure can always drop the glyph. |

Re: The Book of Black Cat ~ Design Phase
There are some figures that can't "lose E-Glyphs by any means other than by being destroyed". So if a fight broke out between a figure like that (Mandarin) and your concept, Mandarin would have little chance of winning except by just the rings and constantly taking leaving engagement attacks to attack from range.
Oh, and he isn't the only one like that. So, no, I am not liking that direction at all. Besides, it is kinda complicated for a power that we have already streamlined into something very approachable for a new player. |

Re: The Book of Black Cat ~ Design Phase
Oh, I guess I didn't realize "cannot lose" meant cannot drop, but I guess that makes sense.
Okay, I'll drop my charm ideas. They don't seem to be working. |

I like the idea of a seductive charmer though Margy...keep the ideas coming.
