Officially Cut Off.....

Sadly, my wife just sent me a text message telling me "NO MORE HEROSCAPE STUFF!".

I just got Sir Dupuis for a buck on eBay this morning and apparently that was the last straw for her...lol.

I can't complain as our son and I have a great collection and we have LOTS of fun with our friends, but the chase has been called off.

No Aubriens for us. No Ticalla Jungle for us. lol.... oh well..

Unless GoodWill or another garage sale has stuff for >$5, we're done, sadly.

I guess I am now in the mood to make more custom terrain!!! I have the supplies for that at least. I need a HS fix now and then.

Sorry, this was just a bit of "venting" from me. Frustrating that I cannot hunt down more figures and terrain. Wives are the death of great hobbies

Did you mean less than $5 (<5)?

I'm glad I have at least 10 or 15 years to go before I even get married, beacause my collection is rather feeble.

Re: Officially Cut Off.....

I can understand in some ways as a lot of things are getting ridiculous on the secondary market. Although if Dupuis for a buck sets her off I'm afraid her tolerance is rather low. Ticalla is insanely priced now, I'd just make some jungle for a fraction of the cost. Is she against you buying anything to make proxies for the crazily priced things too? I guess you should count your blessings you already have a woman. I fear showing potential girlfriends my little plastic miniature toys.

My wife just tends to grab items as the come in and say "well that's for your next birthday I guess!" And then she hides them on me.

I feel your pain. But at least I get to buy my own presents instead of waiting for a new tie or socks.

Re: Officially Cut Off.....

Avoid showing them the toys! Girls are kinda freaked out by that. I've been married for a decade and we have kids, so I can pull it off. LOL!

And my wife doesn't grab anything in the mail, she just takes credit cards away and says "BAD Charlie....BAD." lol

..........evil wives.......gggrrrrrrr

What I usually do is just make a big order and claim it as my next b-day X-mas present. Then she usually gets me something anyway.

I, too, have been cut off. But since I work for a living I may still buy occasionally. Stand up for your rights boys!

And personally? I'd show my potential permanent partner my Heroscape. If she's turned off by it then she is not really a PPP. Not on the first date.

Just imagine how fun it would be to play with your wife all the time. Mine does it only on sufferance, but she does play (and win, curse her.)

Re: Officially Cut Off.....

While there are many women in the world, there is only one game of games.

Seriously, my wife is happy that I am not out with my friends, so I get very little flak. The main complaint I get is I am spoiling my son since the first thing he does when he gets home from school is look for boxes. I have averaged about 2-3 deliveries a week for most of this year, so it is a valid argument. She asked me last week to have them sent to work instead which will allow me to "say hello to my little friends" in the privacy of my office.

Re: Officially Cut Off.....

True, my wife does like the fact that I am home and not out at the bar going berserk with friends..lol. So the only trouble I get into is when I spend too much or we get too loud on game nights and people want to sleep...

And my 10 year old son does the same, looks for boxes in the mail because he "knows dad is buying stuff"! LOL!

Rights?!? We don't have rights, we're married!

No one get me wrong here. My wife is great but the presents she tends to buy me are not ones I would go out of my way to get.

Like other here, she's happy I'm no longer a booze hound (well most of the time) but as far as learning the game - then she'd have three children (my sons and I) wanting her to play it all the time.

I think she's happy being in the background and rolling her eyes at us.
