Re: M.A.R.S. in December: A World in Flux

Very good. Hopefully it goes off well then.

I'm good on my army, Xanth is..............well....not. He's got about 19 different units he wants to use, and certainly not enough points for all of them.

Which map do you want me to bring as the stand-by?

61 tournaments. 144 - 129 - 1 overall record. 4 tournament wins.

My goal, play every official 'scape unit in a tournament at least once. 139 down, 68 to go!

I believe the point of the GenCon ruling was to avoid the issue of Engagement Strike with units like Arkmer and the Nakita Agents which would activate the moment the opposing figures were placed adjacent.

The new HOB rule is supposed to limit the importance of winning initiative and placing your units first. This primarily applies on maps where there are a few one or two hex high points. Take a look at Fenris:

Four single hex spaces dominate the middle of the map. If I win initiative, can you guess where my first four dwarves are going? Now I control the middle of the board and have a pretty big advantage over my opponent just because I rolled better on a D20? That seems very unfair to me. At least with the new HOB rule you can only take one side of the map and not both.

Re: M.A.R.S. in December: A World in Flux

Thanks for the clarification tom. That makes a lot of sense.

Although I do have a hard time believing that you would put yours on those high points. Cause your hardly ever cheesy

Re: M.A.R.S. in December: A World in Flux

I've confirmed the my one daughter is now coming with a friend. Potentially my other daughter is also coming with a friend. Due to this, I will also bring MadWookie's Tyvol's Passage in addition to Hail & Brimstone.

Tyvol's Passage - added 11/29/08 - download

Requires 1 SotM & 1 TJ.

Tom, can I build Fenris instead and you build Hail & Brimstone?

Tell you what, I will take care of both Fenris and Hail & Brimstone. I already had Fenris and Nilf's Lair built and ready to go anyway so adding one more isn't a problem. My problem is still deciding on an army.

See everyone tomorrow.

Oh shoot. I actually can't build all three maps. I only have two Tundra sets and all three maps require one. Let's go ahead and switch then. I got Hail & Brimstone and you do Fenris. Sorry for the confusion.
