This Card and Figure below is to be used as a Laufey proxy by painting the entire figure's skin in a blue scheme of your choice. This proxy was chosen due to the amount of scapers who currently own Jotun and can use him for this card unpainted.

Character Bio - Laufey's origin is surrounded in mystery. Being a Frost Giant, he is a descendant of Ymir, the first Frost Giant. Laufey was King of the Frost Giants until he was killed in a battle against Odin. Neither Laufey or Odin knew that the battle was actually part of a plan between Loki and his younger self, which would lead to Loki being adopted by Odin. Laufey actually survived his fight against Odin, but was killed by Loki via time travel as revenge for all the beatings Laufey had given his son. (ComicVine, 2011)

• Laufey gains his Ice Resistance defense bonus while standing on snow or ice tiles. Figures that create these spaces - such as Icicle - can be useful additions to any Army he's included in.
• As a figure with the Ice Resistance special power, Laufey may benefit from Ice Rock's, Ice Hill's, and Ice Glacier's Glacial Healing special power and Ice Mountain's Glacial Mountain Healing special power.

Start the game with the Glyph of Casket of Ancient Winters on this card. After moving and before attacking, if the Glyph of Casket of Ancient Winters is on this card, you may roll the 20-sided die. After rolling, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card to add 5 to your roll. If you roll 15 or higher, place the Glyph of Casket of Ancient Winters power-side up on any space Laufey occupies.

FROST GIANT RAID
After revealing an Order Marker on this card and instead of taking a turn with Laufey, you may take a turn with up to two Frost Giants you control within 8 clear sight spaces of Laufey. When taking a turn with this special power, a Frost Giant may add 2 to its move if it ends its move adjacent to an opponent's figure.

ICE RESISTANCE
Slippery Ice and Heavy Snow only count as 1 space when moving. Add 1 die to Laufey’s defense while on an ice or snow space.

I like it! No complaints here except that I think he's worth considering as an Event Hero. I know Loki and Thor aren't, but I think Laufey and Odin should be.

That, the cost and whether this figure will even work on a double base were my only questions here.

hmm, good double base question - does anybody have this guy? I'm definitely pro Event Hero, though. I think if Laufey is around, it's an event. And I think he'll also be expensive enough to justify it.

IMO, Laufey should not be an Event Hero because strength-wise he is not on Odin's level. Powerful Asgardian entity? Yes. God-like being? No.

As far as double base goes, no he will NOT fit on a double base. He takes up most of a 4 inch Diameter circle. He is HUGE and he is kneeling. One thing I find weird is that this guy is WAY bigger than the Surtur figure, which I don't like.

Hmm ... sounds like that mini's not useable after all ... if that's the case (and creative rebasing can't solve the issue) anyone have any ideas on another mini we could use for this guy?

It doesn't look usable, so I really wasn't sure. Does DnD have any other Frost Giant figures?

Maybe we should use Griffin's repainted Feral Troll (or one of his other suggested figures) for the Frost Giant and use the Frost Giant figure here?
