Monster Units

I've seen some gripes or at least warnings about power creep.

I'm curious. Who would be interested in seeing a huge, single-unit expansion pack? Maybe a 4-space based massive dragon or something like that? It would be at least 400 or 500 points - something that would be a tournament army in and of itself.

Would anyone LIKE to see that? If so, why? And if not, why?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Me and someone else (sorry, I forgot your name again) thought up something like this.

It wasn't well recieved.

No. I do not think it would be fun to play with just one figure the whole game. It takes away a lot of the strategy.

You could play a 220 point game now. I don't see much benefit from pushing that too much higher.

And now it is Kaiju battle of all time! Prepare for ultimate fight for the universe with great delight. Ready....BEGIN!

Many maps would not be too friendly toward a 4-base figure. I don't care if HS came out with something like that. I don't have to buy them nor do I have to play them.... and I really don't think I would have to play against too many of them. If I did ... you know what the say " The bigger they are the harder they fall.

I just don't see it happening.

I think it would be a fun thing tp play as an option! It could put your army to the test.I don't think it would be much fun as an army builder, but would be fun to go against as a senario deal.

Super-high pointed units (300+ points) are very difficult to balance for HS, due to the aspect that they can activate all 300 or 400 points every turn, while the opponent may be activating 40 or 50 points a turn.

No! With us slowly creeping towards higher and higher point values I begin to get scared.

I think for a fun little custom game it would be fun, but for an official unit it would scare me. I believe a MASSIVE unit wouold point towards the end of HS.

The idea of an ARMY is part of what pulled me into hs in the first place.

If I would have to go against a unit that nothing more than pure power on a huge base it would take away from the fun of a gam for me.

With 225-250 The game still has moments of change and unpredictability. If you are going against 300-400 points you come against the same moves every turn, you also have time to take into consideration. I don't want to spend 2-3 hours just killing a MASSIVE creature.

I'd rather spend 30-45 minutes fighting some heroes and squads while I try to devise a strategy to destroy him completely.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun, but I believe this is more of a house rules type scenario.

Plus: What Reaper said,

My mind is the Pink Zippo that sits on top of a pack of Camel Wides.
