Re: Tournament: Des Moines Seasonal 'Scape

Good morning,

Well I was thinking that I wouldn't be in the mood for another tournament so soon after gencon but as it turns out Matthias is already bugging me about going to Des Moines so I'll do a little double checking to see if there are any conflicts for next Saturday.

I had a couple of questions that came up as I was reading this thread, but of course I can only remember two of them.

With the treasure glyph: Does it behave like a normal treasure glyph, ie. if I kill the hero holding it will he drop it?

Lightning strike in Spring: So basically any figure like Jotun, Braxas, Nilfheim will take an auto wound every single round?

- Raider30

ps: I think your idea for this tournament is outstanding Obsidian. Very clever and 'outside the box' thinking. It's stuff like this that will keep Heroscape fresh for a long time to come. Nicely done!

Nope, they still need to roll 1-8. They always have to roll, but they don't automatically take the wound.

Right, poor wording on my part, but my point was they are considered to be automatically affected by the lightning roll, regardless of the height of the terrain.

Basically you are correct. Jotun's height is 10, so if he is standing on level zero (first level water) he'll be save from the storm. If Jotun is one level one or higher, then his total height is 11, which is greater than 10, so he'll have to roll for the lightning.

Yes, normal rules apply for all treasure glyphs. They can drop them while moving, and they must drop as many as possible when they die.

Hope that clears things up.

Hate to bow but it doesn't look like I'm going to make it. I hope everyone enjoys them selves. I'll keep my eye open for the next one.

Also please add TinyTimmy to the confirmed group.
Please add JustChris to the 'maybe' group.

Re: Tournament: Des Moines Seasonal 'Scape

Well, we're getting close to the 16 players that I originally had room for, which is awesome, but we should probably get another map or two to make sure we have enough space.

Can we get some help from one or two people who could bring this map?

Additional maps

I could bring that map except I don't have any standard heroscape evergreen trees...mine are all custom. They are effectively the same, so if no one else can bring a map let me know.

I can provide the trees if you can provide the rest. Thanks!

Can someone else bring this map? That way we have two of every map and enough room for 20 players.

I've got 3 extra Heroscape boosters if anyone is having a hard time finding something for the entry fee. PM me if you are interested.

Re: Tournament: Des Moines Seasonal 'Scape

I can bring any maps needed. Also, Arya's dad decided to play, so that's 4 in my party. ^_^

If anyone's up for a game of Summoner Wars before/after the tournament, I'll be bringing some of that too. Stubobj owes me a game, after all.
