Re: C3V miniatures

Probably the only thing I would say against the Rackham minis is if you drop them. Scape figures bounce, Rackham will snap IMO.

@Rich10: It's ultimately up to a tourney the Tourney Director. I noticed those alternative Omegacrons are also not the easiest to find, but it does give more options.

I understand, but if the C3V team were to officially bless a proxy, it might help tournament directors to make a decision. I haven't seen the original Mech Warrior figure in person (though it does look cool in pictures) so I don't know if there would be different line of sight considerations.

Can we just put them "a squad to a compartment" in Plano-style cases, or do they need more luxurious accommodations?
I find that the main problem with Rackham figs is that they tend to have much finer bits that stick out, some of which are connected by very thin bits of plastic. Therians in particular have all sorts of spikes and claws and whatnot that snap off if treated roughly. If you drop them on concrete, or if you have kids (both my 5yo and my 12yo have broken Rackham figs accidentally while just messing around with them), you've just gotta figure that some accidents are going to happen.

My preference for storage is in display cabinets, where they can just stand up and not be too crowded. Of course, I only have two cabinets (got 'em at a yard sale), and, these days, I can just barely squeeze all the official HS figs into that space. Customs end up in tackle boxes. Plano are great, of course, but a lot of my Rackhams are in a Flambeau I picked up on sale at Wal-mart. It's got sort of ... well, here, see for yourself (it's the top one). I've never had anything break while in one of those small tackle box compartments, even during my recent move, and even without adding any sort of extra padding. I think every single one of my breakages (of which there have been only three, I believe, and all three were Therians) were child-related.

Another problem you may find with Rackhams is they're occasionally not glued together all that well, and sometimes bits fall off without breaking. But those are trivial to fix: just stick the peg back in the hole or whatever, and after you do that a few times and you're tired of constantly reattaching the skeleton's sword hand or the sphinx's wings, get a drop or two of Krazy glue and do it one last time. No worries.

I think I have 6 of the Omegacrons (bought them a while back and never did anything with them.) PM me if you want to trade.

Darn, was hoping I wouldn't have to pay $9.00 a squad.

First off let me say THANKS to everyone working on this, looks great so far.

Just a quick suggestion... The mini for Omegacron fits really well on a DW9k size base, or a big D&DHS circle base. Is there any possibility that Omegacron's basing will be reconsidered as the wave is finalized?

Hi Eyetooth, that idea was debated, but in the end we decided to go old school and base Omega on a peanut. That way he matches up better with Zetacron and the Q-brothers.

Re: C3V miniatures (with pictures!)

Just saw that Minaturemarket has some decent prices going on right now on some of the C3V minis most notably the Eradicators ($7.50 for 2 squads) and Kira Jax ($4.00) with quite a few still in stock. They also have the Blade Dancers and the common squad shown in the Public Information Thread, though these ones are more expensive at $9.00/squad and $12.00/2 squads respectively.
