I think, as stated above, "supporting" her is not the way to go. I tried building an army to showcase her and surronded her with the likes of Kelda, Ralien, and Saylind.

I found in playing it against quality opponents, that once Sudema goes down your not left with much of an army.

I would haffta agree most with rigler in that you should more "insert" her into an already quality army.

just a foot note: I was testing the afore mentioned army and considering it for the tourny on Oct 21st, but quickly relized it was not gonna work.

How about:

Sudema............140 pts
ReaversX4........160 pts
Deadeye Dan....60 pts
Theracus...........40 pts

Total = 400 pts

The Reavers would tie up your opponents while Theracus gets Sudema and Dan to high ground, who would then slaughter their army with impunity. And Sudema and Dan both have the ability to knock off the big guns. I'd worry a little against an orc army-- because of disengage-- but the orcs are one type of army the Reavers are likely to have offensive success against.

But if you can't get Theracus, I'll have to think more about it...

how about

Sudema 140
Rats X 6

your opponent wont' be able to kill sudema cuz everyone would always be engaged with a rat or two. Have sudema go in and clean house while everyone is slashing at rats. Squads will easily get thinned out.

The only things that you really have to watch out for in an army like that are the multi hitters (MimRing, Johnny, Murphy, Brunak, ect.). You can throw as many rats as you want at a multi-hitter but you end up using too many markers on them.

I'd say

2x 4th mass
Sudema
3x Rats

You can still clog up the opponents army, but when you need to you can throw the 4th Mass at the enemy once the rats dwindle down to a point that they no longer justify an order marker.

Once the opponents squads are handicapped and the big guns are wounded, Sudema can head out for final kills,

with multi hitters, you don't group your rats together, keep them spread out. or not in a straight line. You only need one rat to keep brunak or mimring tied down.

actually, I want to tray that army. I'll need joah to come over, so have have someone to beat on...i mean practice on.

Oh I think that Rats and Sudema would be a fun (and irritating) army, but competitively I think you would need something with range to give a hand.

Let us know how well it plays though, I might try it, but I'll have to use proxies since I only have 4 sets of rats,

If all you have are rats and Sudema, creatures with disengage might actually pose the biggest threat. Ninjas were very effective against my rat army during the Seattle tourney.

My brother used Major X17 and Sudema against my Krug. Krug was unwounded and didn't have enough attack to defeat X17, and Sudema was safely out of range and killed him on her second try.

So do you leave a figure on the battlefield after a successful Stare of Stone so that it acts like a ruin that you can hide behind?

I think leaving a "Stoned" figure is a great idea, maybe putting a wound marker on their base so that everyone remembers that they are just a statue. The black turn markers would work too if you have enough. I may paint some extra wound markers gray when I get home tomorrow.

One time I used her we had some lead minis around, so we dropped unpainted ones in to replace each stoned figure.

Nah. Didn't leave him on the field, but we thought about it. It would actually make sense to do it.
