I advise you delete your post and change the title of the thread to "please ignore this thread, sorry". You could do that with the other thread, too.

Follow the rules of the site. Simple as that. The rules say don't whine about neg rep. You are seriously asking for more of the same with repeated threads about this.

Just turn off the Rep function in the User CP under options. Rep is just a buch of pixles on a screen and not a measure of your selfworth. Sorry to see you having such a bad time of it. Hope things improve.

Unfortunately, posting your feelings about NegRep is a good way to get more of it. I know from experience. My advice ... post some happy feel good stuff. I'll send you a few curtousy PosReps as your New - He's been here one day.

I'm going to show mercy on you here, partially because you're new here, partially because I suspect you're quite I-young (by which I mean that you're very inexperienced with the Internet, regardless of your actual age), and partially because I don't want to reverse the second chance that Ry just gave you. So I'm not docking you, even after I said I was going to dock every single person who whined about neg rep. See, what a nice guy I can be? Restraint, thy name is Xotli.

I think your real problem is that, like many new posters, you haven't figured out how to operate the search function here. This board has been here for years. Do you think that someone might have asked this question before? If you do, do you think it would be a good idea to find out what that answer was? As it happens, we have an entire thread just about reputation where you could ask such things. You just have to search for it.

Ultimately, the best advice for joining a new online community (and actually this works for real world communities as well) is this: lurk for a week before you post a single thing. Heck, when I started, I lurked for a solid month before I ever posted, and look where I am today. Wagging my finger sternly at new guys. Follow my plan: it works! I'm living proof.
