Did you mean "Medusa" D_S? Or is that a joke that's going completely over my head (I wouldn't be surprised if it were, things like that seem to happen to me a lot).

Well, even though that would be more consistent with mythology, HeroScape has precedence of taking names from mythology and other places and slightly adjusting them (Nilfheim from Nilfheimr, Jotun from Jotunheim, Brandar from Brandr, ect.).
I understand. In this particular instance I think the change is a bad idea. Nidhog sounds like something a farmer uses to get bugs out of his corn field.

You might say it was a joke with a long fuse, Viegon. It's all good. Not all my jokes are for every customer.

Keep doing what you're doing, you get a A+, don't mind me.

Okay, it does a little. But really, I don't see adding another "G" making it any different.

And D_S: Thanks, and no worries; like I said, that happens to me a lot.

I must admit that the "hog" stands out negatively to me as well. It seems to deflate the power/presence of something that should be terrifying. I actually think the double-g does help slightly, though doing a full blender treatment like Sudema might work, too. (Dingoh and Ghonid have issues, too, though... "Dingoh ate my baby!")

Re: C3V Public Playtesting Sign-up

I actually researched figures for this sort of concept a while back (I won't give anything away for the purposes of playtesting), but the name I settled on for my concept was Grimaklynn. Seemed appropriate, if not very mythologically relevant...

Do all of you realize we used a similar naming convention as the official figues did with Jotun anf Nilfheim.

Re: C3V Public Playtesting Sign-up

Suggestions are welcome. The unit is under review and was simply put into public playtesting without being fully formed. A slip up.

We promise to have lots of great Scape goodies for you all soon!

Yes and, in this one instance, the resulting name is spelled in such a way that it connotes unfortunate images. I'm a big fan and supporter of C3V so I'm not going to criticize things after the fact. I'm just (very politely, I think) suggesting, before it's too late, that even the simplest of fixes would go a long way. Maybe consider Nidogh or Niddogh? Just asking you to consider it.

Sorry if we're coming of as resisting your suggestions, Mossman, it's just that, at least for me, I'm not seeing how some of these suggestions make "hog" stand out less; it's just the way I see the name.

Thanks for mentioning it, Mossman, and thanks for being polite about it; no matter what the topic we're always interested in hearing what the public thinks.
