New Jersey Event

I want to host an event in New Jersey. It is not official as of now. It is to most likely be in Union County. I will have the real date, location, and time by November(no sure when in November, so keep checking in, most likely in January).

there may be a limit to people so sign up fast.

Greetings The_Epic_Llama;

...and welcome to the HeroScapeRs Forums ( I noticed that this is only your 2nd Post ). Scotch Plains or Union County are NO PROBLEM for me since I live in Long Branch in Monmouth County and via the GSP I can be there in 30-45 minutes. I can also bring any BoV that has downloadable instructions posted here in the Maps Section.

As TOM mentioned there are several other "local" HS events already planned for November. The first is in Savage, MD on Sunday 11/07; the second is in West Chester, PA on 11/20; and a third one is near Baltimore, MD on 12/04. All three of them have active threads here in the Events Section.

I encourage you to read them and join in the discussions to at least familiarize yourself with some of the User Names that you are likely to see again, since we are the ones who are most likely to attend a NEW JERSEY event. Whether or I not I can make it will depend on the DATE and scheduling conficts I may encounter regarding birthdays and holidays, etc.

If you are free this Saturday (11/30), I will be attending the MeetUp group: "Boardgames_NJ" which meets up in the "Sun Room" at the Panera Bread on US Rt.#1 in Edison, adjacent to the Memlo Park shopping center from noon 'til closing. There are a few of the members who are mildly interested in HS ( I'm the only fanatic ), mostly they play a wide variety of the newer Euro style board games, which are still fun once in a while.

I would be interested in an event like this. Any excuse to play is good enough for me, and a "commute" less then 30 minutes would be a nice change (considering I travel an hour and a half plus to the events so far).

The Event will most likely in early-mid January. Hopefully the 8th or 15th (not November). I know it will not be for awhile, but were we want to have the event is pretty booked. Keep checking in.

For the tournament i for got to say there will be no Marvel allowed and no glyphs.

That's even better news... so that we can all get through the three up coming November Events and the Holidays. With so much advance notice, we who are reading this [and you all know who you are - DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA] should mark our calendars and plan on it. Other players in the region who want to also plan something for January, hopefully will be curteous enough to plan around your date (as soon as it is confirmed) to avoid any scheduling conflicts. And one final thing you'll have to pray that the weather cooperates and we don't have another cancellation due to blizzard conditions. I hope to see you then or some Saturday at the Panera Bread on US #1 in Edison, NJ adjacent to the Memlo Park shopping center. My game club meets there every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday of every month (it's organized through MEET_UP-dot-COM < http://www.Meetup.Com > ). It is not conducive for a HS tournament, but some of their tables could accomodate a small two player HS map board for casual gaming.

Well, looks like we have another person dipping his toes into the tournament directing scene. It is alway good to get new blood into this. I am very glad to see that you will be doing something in January and not Dec. or Nov. because when we start to get events too close together, the number of players often suffers.
Having said that, I am a maybe for this event. There are so many things that can happen between now and then that could cause me to not come so I cannot commit, but I will try and make it.
