Player Kits

I wanted to share with you guys something I have had for a while. I am the only one of my gaming group that has 'Scape. I am okay with that because the other guys have their games. I like being able to focus on a couple games so I don't have to buy every game. Anyway, being that I am the one who supplies all fun that is 'Scape, I put together "Player Kits."

They look like this:

They are actually Dentyne Gum Containers that start off like this:

I just peeled all the plastic wrapping off and you get a container like the blank ones you see above.

Lets take a peek into them...

As you can see, there is a bunch of 'Scapey stuff in there.

Here is the contents of each individual kit:

When I am setting up space to play, I set a kit at each seat. That way, everyone has their own set of materials. When the player is finished, they just scoop all their things back into the little jar, close it up and it is ready for the next time to play. I also have a large pool of extra wound counters, in case someone runs out, but 15-20 wound counters in each jar has been plenty so far.

In the case someone needs a special counter (Grenade, Experience Markers etc) those are kept in the individual compartment of the figures that use them. So, the grenade marker is kept in the Airborne Elite compartment etc. When they are done with the marker requirering unit, they just put the counter(s) back with the figs.

Other things I do to make the game easier and flow better:

I have a Reference Binder, which is just a 3 ring binger with top loaders containing every rule rook, scenarios, and the FAQ. (You can kinda see it in the background of the first pic)

Army Cards are kept in a CD Binder separated by General. Obviously commons are stacked together in the same slot. Bonding Squads and Heros are file next to each other, and like units are filed together (All marrow are next to each other, orcs, samurai etc.)

I know I am always curious on how others store and keep track of their Scape, so I was hoping you guys would enjoy seeing how I did as well.

Thanks for reading!

Great idea and really cool way to break it out. Everything I have is a disorganized mess right now - it simply grew beyond the storage capacity I had set aside for it. Seeing such clean organization inspires me to go try to sort everything out again.

I like that a lot. I do something kind of similar. I have all the flagbearer dice bags stocked with a set of order markers and some wound markers. The Ullar one has Morsbane's negation markers, Einar has the Tagawa experience markers, and Jandar has the grenade marker for the Airborne Elite. I prefer the old 1st edition dice, but I usually just grab a dice bag because of the convenience. That kind of container is about perfect. I think I might prefer that set up over the dice bags. I might have to get a few of those.

I have similar player kits, and I also have a binder with all the existing rulebooks + FAQ. I also have a folder with plans for all my favorite maps.

Thank you for posting that!
I like to try to keep all my stuff organized to make optimumn use of any play time I get. I will defeinitely implement this.

I completely agree. It is unfortunate how often life gets in the way of gaming! I only get to play about once a month (if I am lucky) so any time shaved off of set up is time spent playing.

Plus, we usually wrap up late into the night *cough* morning.... So quick clean up is always nice too. I usually leave the map up when we are done, but I am uncomfortable leaving a million dice, markers and counters laying every where.

I have these already made up as well, except they are in the new plastic Gerber food tubs. Having newborn twins around made them plentiful when I started Heroscape, and they have become quite handy in a number of situations, both gaming and non-gaming alike. I would highly recommend them for HS.
