Bravey & Scottys Weird World War II
Me and scotty where bored, so we started writing some rules down for a game that was originally going to be a post-apocolyptic RPG. but then morphed into a WWII game. We tested the rules we wrote, which are VEY basic, and enjoyed it, but decided we will need more rules, since we did a LOT of vague handwaving when it came to rules we hadn't even written down. We are aiming to turn it into a complete mash-up of rules, a little bit Infinity, a little bit RPG, a little bit 'scape, a little bit AT-43, and a little bit of both warhammer games.
The rules (VERY MUCH WIP)
One or two D20's
WWII/retro sci fi scenery.
An amount of models appropiate to the game being played, usually 3-6 allied heros, and about 20 Axis figures.
The world is in flames; Hitler has taken much of the world for his own, and only a handful of desperate survivors are left alive. Hordes of gas masked nazi Sturmtruppen, totally devoid of any emotion, are rounding up the last survivors, and shipping them off to be "processed" as the Nazis have it, or to be "executed and then turned in a bloody awful zombie" as the British say (I know, the theme is very pulpy. At least I don't have any Soviet femme fatales in the works). The allied side is represented by a small group of Soviets, Brits, and Americans. These are refered to as "characters", and represent the last few allied survivors left. These characters can level up, increase their proficency in various skills, and become a force to be reckoned with. The Axis forces are much larger, and consist mainly of zombies, Sturmtruppen, one or two nazi heros, and maybe a werewolf or super soldier.
Please playtest these rules with whatever models that you think fit in, and tell me what I should do/invent your own rules and tell me about the.What we have written down so far:
Humans-400 life, move 5”.(I want to add strenghth/agility/intellect/melee weapon skill/ranged weapon skill/
Grunt-300 life, move 5” towards closest visible Allied character.
Light- Soaks up ten damage from every hit VAL/ 30
Medium-soaks up 25 from every hit. VAL/40
Heavy- soaks up 30 points from hit. VAL/50
Metal (these are battlesuits. We use Kolossus’s from AT-43 ) :
Medium-soaks up 40 from hit. VAL/ 80 MINUS 2 FROM MOVE
Heavy-soaks up 60 from hit VAL/ 100 MINUS 4 FROM MOVE
Weapons (roll 1 D20 for use rolls, then roll D20's and add a zero to the end of every damage roll you make)
10mm- 200dmg VAL/80
2 bursts/use 12
Lee Enfield- 400dmg. VAL/120
Range- 1-20 inches.
1 shot/use 12
4 shots/use 13
Range- 1 to 10
Combat knife 200dmg.
Must be in base contact.
Character sheet: Ignore the XP bar, I still need to work on an XP system.
